Hi everyone, Has anyone been using an IMac with protools and a 5.1 system. If yes, what are the pros and cons of it? Been thinking of getting 21.5 inch soon. Please let me know your thoughts about it Thanks

Hey JW'ers. I randomly started having an issue with a periodic digitally distorted, 'bargled' output from my old Mbox 2 USB interface and my Mac Pro desktop cpu, running Mac OSX 10.8.5. No idea where this is coming from, as I've been running this same setup, relatively unchanged for a couple years now. I have a temporary fix, going through Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup and toggling the Digidesign Mbox 2 tab Clock Source from Internal to S/PDIF and back. But it keeps happening, and I'm mystified as to why this issue would just start up like this. Any ideas for a steady fix? I figure a full OS update would probably solve it.. but I just wanted to see if anyone could point me to a root cause. Thanks,

For those of you getting upset or whatever, watch the video. It's obviously a joke. It's humor for your enjoyment. You're welcome. Anyone planning on getting one of these things? I'd check out this video before doing so. Seriously, watch it until the end to really get a grasp on the awesome technology that Apple is introducing into the tech realm. Mind = Blown!

I have been using Boom Recorder successfully with my MacBook Pro and a Mackie Onyx 1620i mixer, with the Firewire option. I recently upgraded to 8.5.0 and the MacBook Pro is running Yosemite. I have worked with this setup without a problem, until today. We did several setups without incident until, around 10am, I lost timecode and the software aborted the take. Luckily I was able to switch to my backup recorder, but I lost a couple of takes and, more importantly, production had to wait for us. I restarted and did all the pertinent troubleshooting things and it eventually came back, but it's not reliable, and it cuts off eventually. Timecode comes from a Denecke SB3, feeding track 16. During my troubleshooting I noticed that BR sometimes doesn't recognize the Mackie. I wonder whether I'm missing something that would cause this intermittent problem. I'm on set right now, and will be working on this project (national TV commercial) the rest of the day and tomorrow, and am quite baffled. I would love to resolve this and keep working with BR. Any tips you may have, please feel free to text me at eight-one-eight-640-6268 or email me at blaskisic-at-mac-dot-com. Thanks in advance! BK

Finally! It's been announced for a while and we are happy that we now are ready to release it: The MAC updater for Lockits and Tiny Lockits. Additionally we aligned the different firmwares so that one updater tool will work for all recent and upcoming network ready products. Obviously, it took us longer than we expected and we hope that the new features now also available for Mac users will compensate for the latency. Get your firmware 3.11 now and add powerful new features to your devices. Firmware download page http://vimeo.com/71959025

Hello everyone, Many of us wanted use the large venue frequency coordination software, Intermodulation Analysis System, on our Macs (some of us resorting to VMWare to do so). And now we can! A recent update to the popular MacOS/Linux utilities, Wine and Wineskin, which are used to run windows programs, has enabled near full functionality of IAS on a Mac computer. I have posted a guide to install it at this link: http://newendian.com/index.php?title=IAS_for_Mac The only major thing that doesn't work (that I've found), is the intermod product graphs at the bottom of the screen. A proper license is of course required (some people may need to contact Professional Wireless about reactivating their license). The evaluation mode works fine for those who want to try IAS on Mac before buying it. Please try it and let everyone know if you have any interesting experiences. Cheers, James
