Hey, I got some useful info from studiomprd! I figured out how to "ignore" him!

My Block 26 Zax hop has co-existed with the Block 22 411's for the last six years, Block 22 SRb scans show no more RF energy spray from the Zax hop than do the Block 22 411a's. A four block spread between the Zax hop and Lectro receivers living in one bag has been fine in my experience. I also know that configuring 4 Lectro's in one block is workable - that wasn't my question either. What I'm curious about is might there be some sort of interference between two same block SRb's in one bag due to other unreported factors? More specifically, the tuning spread issue (feature?) of the SRb: from Lectro's manual: "Performance will be degraded if Receiver 2 is set 4.2 to 4.8 MHz higherthan Receiver 1." If one Block 22 SRb is tuned within that 4.2 - 4.8 MHz window compared to the adjacent Block 22 SRb, could there be interference from unit to unit? It's a reach, but I though I might ask. I did do a search and didn't see anything come up, hence my post. studiomprd, please don't respond to my thread, I don't wish to read your responses.

Are any of you folks set up this way? I'm thinking of running two Block 22 SRb's paired with 4 SM-series transmitters. I currently have 1 Block 22 SRb and 2 Block 22 411a's. The rest of the bag contains 1 Block 19 SRb/2 SMV with a Block 26 Zaxcom Digital Link for hop, running through Nomad. Thank you for your input.

Matt - Thanx for the info - and it's great to hear from you! I'll investigate the Under Armour base layer solution. Do you (or anyone else) have pix of the mic mount in the sewn-in pocket? I'd really like to see an actual image of the set up - I'm most interested in the mic mount aspect. Thanks again, hope we get to work together soon!

Hi Folks I've been asked to work on a documentary following a soccer team through its season. The director wants to hidden body mic key players during practice and games. I have put mics on athletes before - even with "clean" hidden mounts I tend to hear the jersey flapping/bouncing on and off the chest, with both sternum mounts and when taping or vamping the mic on the uniform, especially as the jersey becomes soaked with sweat. Sternum mounts with tape tended not too last long before the sweat eliminated the stick from the tape and the mount comes off. I've use Tegaderm, Moleskin, toupée tape, etc., all with similar results. Vampire clips at the collar tend to keep the mic in place but the bouncing and flapping of the jersey was still an issue. Anyone have a magic bullet? I have also thought about getting a parabolic mic worked from the sideline as an alternative. TIA

Honda Odyssey minivan Fits: RubberMaid follow cart, Nomad in a bag, soft Porta-Brace run bag, 2 standard Pelicans, EZ -Up, TV tray/mixer table, folding chairs, and C-Stand, with lots of room left over. Six step in the back or on the roof rack. Very comfortable searts, low lift height in the cargo area, low center of gravity (superior ride and handling/safer compared to SUV), communicative steering, good power (0-60 mph is equivalent to a Tahoe rocking a 5.3 liter small block V-, and low cost. I got my '08 new for $26k out the door. An equivalent Tahoe would have been at least $10k more and it's main advantage is off road ability. Unless you need greater vertical interior height and/or light truck payload an Odyssey is a good choice.

I've had "Pointer Error as well with 4.02. Contacted Howie who sent me 4.09. Nomad has run flawlessly today with 4.09. THANX Howie.

Senator - The reason I asked specifically if others were having the compressor setting not latching issue with v. 4 is that deep owl was the only reporter of this phenomenon at the time I read the post. Jack Norflus' helpful response didn't delineate whether or not Howy was aware of all user's of v. 4 having the problem or just deep owl. That is why I asked for clarification. So Senator, are you reporting that your Nomad, running v. 4, also has the compressor setting non-latch issue?

If u do news and "reality" a short pole can be very useful - i.e., getting into and out of cars and other vehicles when running and gunning

The MKh-50 has a greater working distance than the 40. I.e..u can live with a looser frame as opposed to the 40, which would need to be closer to talent to sound equivalently close.

If the 302'a outputs are similar to the 442, you may want to have resistors put in your mixer to transmitter cable. Years ago when I first set up my 442 I found that hop headroom was lacking even when mixer output to hop input levels lined up with tone. I consulted with Trew Audio and they developed a set of TA5 cables with inline resistors both for my Lectro and Zaxcom hops. Results were excellent. I don't know enough about electronics engineering to explain this better but apparently the SD outputs need more "resistance" to play well with Lectro and Zaxcom hops.

I've been using NP-1's with various bag systems for over ten years and never had a battery slip off the battery "hat". A sensibly set up cart system should be just as reliable.

I've had the mirroring setting not stick issue but that is long gone due to revised firmware. My #33 has been in constant service since delivery in November. It replaced a 442/744t combo and I would never go back. The matrix mixing and output routing options alone make the Nomad far superior to the other in-bag options.
