  1. I had a pebble watch and loved it (before I lost it). They're not expensive ($99) and I would highly recommend it. Rest assured that Apple has virtually infinite money, resources, and manpower to investigate whether this would be viable product. It would be unwise to take ones own limited personal experience without respecting their caution in fully developing a new product. Apple can't just slap their logo on dirt and sell it. What I meant by this post is to actually find out if my user base would appreciate such functionality on a watch like that. Particularly because LectroRM seems like a reasonable fit for it. I think I could make a good user interface for it. I'm going to repost this question in a more objectively useful format.
  2. I'm just floating out there, LectroRM on Apple Watch
  3. Hi Evan, Rule of thumb is to configure the least flexible transmitters first (Comtek is only 1 MHz wide) and then configure the more flexible transmitters afterward. Ordinarily I don't recommend having spare transmitters configured even if you're not using them, but with the Comteks it seems that is the best way if you think you'll need to add extra ones. Here are a few things you might want to try for this situation. Try turning down the intermod settings in the "Calculation" screen found on the left side menu drawer. Set everything to off and to minimum and then try adding another Comtek. If you aren't actually using all of your talent mics, you could set some of them to disabled using the "Disable" button in the left side menu drawer, selecting the transmitters to disable, and then trying to select a new Comtek frequency. If that doesn't work, you'll have to reconfigure your talent transmitters. Force selection of a new Comtek transmitter (41, 43, 48, 51 are compatible with each other) and then start selecting compatible channels for transmitters with the red exclamation points. Also, my email address is newendian@gmail.com in case anyone needs it
  4. FYI (and I just learned this too), if you're on the beta build, you can "buy" any in-app purchases without actually paying. Also, if you had already purchased TVDB and find that it stops working, it might be simply because using it in beta requires you to "purchase" it in beta. I'm trying to figure out how to confirm that now. Seems like a good use of my once-a-year tech support question from Apple.
  5. My apologies. I know that was backhanded. Sometimes you just get the need to scratch that dark side itch. No but seriously, it's important to me that you don't feel hesitant to voice your opinions, so mea culpa.
  6. Sorry, Chris. I'd rather spend my time on functionality, not beauty. It's more difficult than it seems to replace a UI. But trust me when I say the Android interface is completely unrelated to iOS. The awful looking quality of the UI is 100% my doing.
  7. iOS has that. For some reason, its harder on Android
  8. Single tear of pride. My baby made it to the Superbowl
  9. You are correct on most points, Tom. Avoid could be used for transmitters as well. Sometimes you want to avoid overlap with a set of transmitters but don't want to calculate their intermod. I may add the ability to import a TX Profile directly into the Avoid List. This does overlap functionally with the Disable option for transmitters. I feel like the combination of Avoid Lists, Disable, and Protected settings will open up the capability of FreqFinder. But in the long term, I am also considering an "Advanced" version of FreqFinder with a more complex way of organizing transmitters that would provide much more configuration: things like increasing the intermod protection on some transmitters but not others; or grouping transmitters that are much more likely to intrepid with each other (bag transmitters, for instance). But again, that is down the road. Overall, FreqFinder as it stands, still only really suits the simple cart setup. There are much larger shows I've worked on that I think need better customization. So, still working on it...
  10. The avoid lists are not location specific. Making them respond to your location would be too complicated an endeavor. As it stands, I believe the use of multiple TX Profiles is the best way of organizing different locations. The avoid list is attached to its respective TX Profile.
  11. So far I have three sets of presets: US TV, UK TV, and Japan TV. Naturally, I need to fill in holes and I'd like everyone's help to do so. I'm considering that my imagination is limited here. If you've got a great idea, I'd like to hear it. Only request is that it fit logically into the Category/Preset scheme.
  12. Just FYI, the new version is still being processed by Apple before it becomes available for testers. Everyone will receive an email when it becomes available.
  13. I'm looking to release the next update which will add Avoid Lists to FreqFinder. And I need people willing to brave the initial testing of the update. Avoid Lists are a simple way to veto any frequency range of your choosing. Adding Avoid ranges comes in 3 different flavors: - Manual enter a name and the high and low values for the range - Press the Avoid Channel button on any transmitter to mark it as a bad frequency (the range will be input into your Avoid List) - Select a predefined Avoid Preset such as particular TV channels. The list of presets will be continually improved upon (suggestions welcome) I have of course done my best to make it bug free, but I don't have all devices that are available to users. I need users to install the beta and report back on any bugs. The sooner I verify it works on devices outside of my control, the sooner everyone can enjoy the update. You can PM me with your email address for an invite. Thank you all, James
  14. Yes, I think that the ubiquity and flexibility of USB-C will really help device manufacturers both in cost and in meeting performance requirements. Aside from the 10Gbps bandwidth, which really should be enough for anything except for straight bulk data transfer (in which case faster is always better), USB-C has intelligent power negotiation with much higher power modes, and it has intelligent client/server negotiation. I think it's only a matter of time before all-in-one USB controllers are mass produced and every device manufacturer has a cheap solution to all of our performance needs. AND It has a symmetrical plug: frustration eliminated
  15. It doesn't look like this is going to happen, but I'm actually pretty surprised that they're not building a USB port into the supplied charging cable. Seems like a necessity to me.
  16. Anything said outside of the courtroom is hearsay. But turns out one of the many exceptions to the rule is that the incriminated person's statements can always be used against him.
  17. "Expectation of privacy" might be a civil thing. My understanding is when it comes to criminal investigations only police and lawyers have constraints regarding privacy.

  19. Hi Jesse, allow me to refer you to this video introduction:
  20. Working on something to that effect, yes. It's an Avoid List feature. Basically will allow you to veto bands of spectrum. And I'll have presets (which I'll ask for everyone's suggestions). Doing Android first, but iPhone will be next.
  21. Lectrosonics has not provided that remote control functionality in their SMs. I believe the reasoning behind it is that there's no concrete feedback on whether a remote control message was received. Lectrosonics recommends that you execute the tone multiple times to be sure. That wouldn't work so well with incremental changes.
  22. It is possible, but it would require a non-trivial amount of work and I have other priorities for things I'm working on. And it would overlap with FreqFinder's functionality and FreqFinder is meant to be the transmitter management app. Not that it's out of the question, just that it's not high on my priorities for features. I hope you understand.
