VASI Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 The world's only festival of ice music, will be held in Geilo, Norway, January 16-19, 2014. At last year's festival, we followed the process as sculptors and musicians made the instruments from lake ice, recorded the otherwordly sounds they produce and captured the final haunting performances in a purpose-built auditorium made out of snow. studiomprd Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Neumann mic's are best for this... Quote
Olle Sjostrom Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 In Sweden, there's also a festival with ice instruments. It got canceled though. The instruments melted. Quote
VASI Posted December 29, 2013 Author Report Posted December 29, 2013 Did you see the "trick" with snow around? Maybe helps to not melt. Hmm.. Sennheiser MKH mic, AKG or Neumann on the stand. Back look's like a contact mic. Quote
Miles Anderson Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 In Sweden, there's also a festival with ice instruments. It got canceled though. The instruments melted. obviously in warm baltic sweden you have those sorts of problems. not the case in frigid geilo.... Quote
