Jeff Wexler Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 This is a terrific talk my father did for the Criterion release of "Medium Cool". So insightful and so relevant even today, a view into Chicago, 46 years ago. The video is a pretty good history of my father's commitment as an artist and filmmaker to so many of the issues we face today --- and he is still at it at age 92! Quote
Philip Perkins Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 now where did that "like" button go….? philp Quote

Stillweii Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Did Chris get you into the sound game on this one JW? Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Did Chris get you into the sound game on this one JW? No, "Medium Cool" got Chris into the game though. Chris had only done documentary work for the most part and "Medium Cool" was his first feature film. I wasn't doing sound yet, still in college preparing for my teaching credential to teach sociology. It wasn't until I worked as P.A. in the Art Department on "Harold and Maude" that I made the decision to start a career in movies. I wanted to do something more technical than the Art Department so it was going to be Camera or Sound (and it wasn't going to be camera --- didn't want to follow my father's path so I chose to be part of the "enemy" --- lots of time that's what the Camera Dept. called the Sound Department).
