A gentle inquiry regarding Orpheus headphones: $50,000??? WTF SENNHEISER?

The price is almost irrelevant.  They're a product designed to promote the brand, nothing more.  They'll get people talking about Sennheiser and hopefully will persuade some to buy more Sennheiser gear.

I think they look very nice though, I'd certainly like to own some.

On one hand I am kind of relieved to see these, as recently Sennheiser seemed to be descending more and more into the DJ/comsumer low end of the market. This returns them to the higher end of things. 

On the other hand, these headphones would have been marketed by Neumann much better, I think. They are much more a brand associated with posh gear. And with their aquisition of the K&H speakers this would seem like a fitting addition
