Philip S89 Posted November 30, 2022 Report Share Posted November 30, 2022 After maximising the gain in a sound file using adobe audition, I export it and put it in premiere pro. I check the gain levels of the same file and it’s peak amplitude is -7dB. Why does this discrepancy occur? I demonstrate this in the attached video. Rick Reineke Posted December 1, 2022 Report Share Posted December 1, 2022 Many DAWs and NLEs show the peak decibel scale dBFS (anything over 0.0dB is clipped). I think Audition uses dBFS. I .. at least by default. I do not know what scale PP uses. Most DAWs have settings to change the meter scale ( RMS, LU or other).. The waveform display usually shows peak.
