  1. an Amira timecode question. Film I am on at the minute, the DIT tells me that a few takes a day are 40 seconds to a minute out of sync, whilst everything else is absolutely fine. he can see no pattern to which takes will be out of sync, and it may be take 3 and 4 that is out, and take 5 is fine. Have ruled out the cards camera is recording to as it happens across all 4 cards that they are using. I am using a 788T fed into a Zaxcom cameralink, which transmits to the ERX receiver permanently attached to camera. everything set to 24fps. and i dont believe that camera has gone off speed yet on th
  2. there have been a number of useful discussions here concerning wireless transmission of timecode, but i've not been able to find an answer to the following question … what are the consequences in post production of time of day timecode that has a timecode "jump" in the clip? case in point: in my quest to make life a little easier for my hard-working associates in the camera department, i have in the past considered ways of using the camera hop as a timecode device, and eliminate the bulk of the sb3 box. the lectro d4, for example, could be used as a stereo hop, with the third channel bein

  4. I just got an email from Zaxcom about the new ERX firmware v2.0 - http://zaxcom.com/software_update/erx-v2-0/ This is yet another awesome free update from Zaxcom. Thanks for listening so carefully to your users! Mark O.
  5. Hi all, I have been asked to do sound on a 5D shoot. - Mk2 or Mk3 (TBD). - Sometimes a pair of 5Ds. - It is documentary. - We will shoot in Armenia. - No post house on board yet. - Editor not yet confirmed. - Likely to stay like that until we return from Armenia. - First production meeting Saturday. I have some obvious concerns about sync. - I have only one Lockit. - My pair of Tentacle Sync boxes might not arrive by then. So plan is: ERX on each 5D; - 5D Left track - scratch mix (for PluralEyes) - 5D Right track - TC (for AuxTC Reader) For the interviews this se
  6. We are adding a case for the Zaxcom ERX's to our line up. We are expecting to be shipping these in the beginning of August and we expect the retail price to be less than $15 US. We are also looking for feed back on the design of the case since we are still making minor changes to it. Here are photos of the prototype.
  7. Hey Everyone, Production took off on me before I could take my ERX off their camera. This was in Englishtown NJ, but they were on their way to Bethlehem PA and the crew is from LA. The serial number is 1173 and it had a Bodyglove EZ View case and an xlr/bnc Y output cable. (1/8">xlrm/bnc). Please get in touch with me if anyone happens to come across it.... Thanks!
  8. I'm not sure which thread to post this in, so I'll drop it here. A buddy of mine and I did a range test today using the following gear: Sennheiser G3 Zaxcom TRK900LA / QRX100 Lectrosonics SM / UCR411A Comtek 216 series Zaxcom ERX2TCD I understand that there's a lot of variables to doing a test such as this, but we had a lot of fun doing it, we just wanted to test our gear, and to just get a general idea on how the range was since we have never found a solid answer.. Keep in mind, this was all LOS (Line of sight) testing. All results are based on when there was a complete dropout
  9. Zaxcom now has product registration on there web site. You can register you Zaxcom product and choose to receive email updates about your gear. http://www.zaxcom.com/product-registration
  10. Hello Everyone, I wanted to share my findings with cases for the ERX's. Yesterday I received a ERX2TCD from Proctor Trivette. I really loved the case he gave me with it. So I took some pics The first picture I will show are the cases I have. They are Belkin Ipod Classic 6th gen cases. Pretty nice but some issues. One being they are very tight getting off and on, no good if you need to change batteries quick. Second, it has no belt clip. The second series of pics is the new one. It is the Body Glove EZ View Universal Case. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Body-Glove-View
