If you email me (howard@za....) I can walk you through some debug screens to see what is going on.

You might also try restoring your factory defaults if you have not done so in a long time to clear out any effects that you are not using.

Also we will need to see if your processor speed is set to HIGH.

Brian,

I find the mirroring on my Deva V can be painfully slow when I have high track counts, even when using a Lexmark card reader and cf cards. Ive taken to continuous mirror record in such circumstances as the time it can take is unbearable, particularly after wrap.

Curiously, the mirroring on my Nomad is lightening fast by comparison, even when recording 6 tracks. With Remote Audio selling the drive caddy, it always lead me to think that slow mirroring was always just 'one of those things' with the Deva. Maybe I'm wrong...!

What does the RemoteAudio Drive Caddy have to do with this? The Drive Caddy is just another method of mounting the hard drive in the Deva that makes it easier to remove the drive. I have had slow mirroring problems maybe one or two times over many, many years, and it was always due to bad media (DVD-RAM discs) or a drive on its last legs. I have replaced the optical drive twice, once in my Deva IV and once in my Deva 5.8. One of the reasons I am pleased that we have been able to make real progress switching post workflow over to solid state (CF) storage for the deliverable.

My apologies Jeff, I meant the Zaxcom HD2USB Hard drive to USB adaptor. The RA Drive Caddy is something completely different!

I have switched to mirroring to CF cards, but I still experience slow mirroring. It may be I need to take my Deva in for a service
