ProSound
I am currently working on film that has me working out of the bag a lot Camera is controlling camera functionality using a Boxx TV Meridian http://www.boxx.tv/products/meridian/broadcast/index.html According the the website it is a 100Mw but they are getting over 500 feet of range which leads me to believe it is much stronger. They are also using a Standard Preston kit as well which while noisy doesn't seem to have any RF effect. It is killing my range in certain situations ( Less than 50 feet line of sight) Has anyone worked with this Boxx system before and experienced issues from it? RPSharman
We started a thread about this recently, and emailed Boxx, who were of little help.
Michael McQueen
they are using that same system on NBC's revolution, you might want to hit up Mike Rayle who's mixing that show and see if he's had similar issues.
Marc Wielage
The info I have for them is: Boxx TV Ltd. Suite 17, Imperial Studios 3-9 Imperial Road London, SW6 2AG UK http://www.boxx.tv/ t: +44 (0)845 643 2874 f: +44 (0)207 900 6350 My guess is that although the main carrier is not on UHF, there may be weird spurious harmonics and other hash that's wrecking normal wireless audio transmission. johngooch
Using boxx meridian on show right now. No apparent loss in range on my wireless systems. I am more concerned with wireless focus transceiver system which at times has better range than my wireless.

ProSound
I was getting occasional boom interference similar to some other sound mixer from the Boxx. The boom would completely cut out and come right back it never happened during a take though. But yes in Bag model the Preston seems to be the cause of issues too.
