assumption
Hey everyone, I am wondering what the possibilities are of using the hirose power connector on the 633 as an outlet.. I have heard rumours that it is possible to use pins 2 and 3 to draw power from the L series batteries in certain recorders, I am wondering how much truth there is in these.. I haven't been able to find anything remotely useful regarding this, except for what I already knew that pin 1 is negative and pin 4 is positive.. Am I correct in assuming that as you can't charge the L series using external power whilst being plugged into the 633, there may not be the circuitry in place to allow power to pass through pins 2 and 3 on the hirose? Any help or thoughts would be very much appreciated.. Many thanks
soundslikejustin
True, you cannot charge the L-mounts with the Hirose. Looping the l-mount battery power back out the Hirose would be a custom mod, and would probably void your warranty.
osa
Maybe you cant charge but as far as power out, Did you try a multimeter on the hirose at the 633 to see if anything spits out on those pins? Ken
Matt Mayer
There is no power output from the L-Mount batteries on the 633.
