audiofp Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 With the latest firmware the LR "Added customizable "Group" tuning feature, permitting quick and convenient access to four groups of up to 32 channels each." with no instructions or updates to the manual. Anyone know how this works? I don't find an associated function on the LTs. Quote
Michael Capulli Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Yes! Was waiting for this! Thanks Quote
karlw Posted January 26, 2016 Report Posted January 26, 2016 Updates to the LR manual should be forthcoming shortly! Quote
Dean Slotness Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 See page 15 from the manual for information on tuning groups. http://www.lectrosonics.com/US/phocadownload/LRman.pdf Quote
locationsoundvie Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 It would be great to have the Smart Tune function within the user group. This would be helpful to automatically operate in the ideal frequency without having to think about frequency coordination. Smart Tune in user groups would fasten the setup procedure on set. Quote
Michael Capulli Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Smart tune doesn't really make sense for a single receiver? Quote

It's a way to do a quick and confident setup on site - let the receiver choose the frequency, based on everything that is going on around you, using a single step process. In a way, it's an automatic version of doing a scan then selecting a frequency based on that scan. Quote
Constantin Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Smart tune doesn't really make sense for a single receiver? Also, if you have several receivers it makes as much sense as Smart Tune in a Venue Quote
Casey Preston Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 On my LR receivers, the groups are not preprogrammed. I was hoping it would be more like the older preprogrammed blocks just for ease of use, but maybe Lectrosonics figured most people would like to just like to fine tune to their area. Does it make sense to just manually add in the old a, b, c ,d groups for the blocks, or is their a newer wide range frequency scheme? Quote
karlw Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 We've been gradually eliminating the pre-tuned groups because, while they are coordinated with each other, they do not take into account any outside RF sources like TV or other wireless transmissions. Using SmartTune or scanning and choosing frequencies based on that, or using FreqFinder, or IAS, etc. is a far better way to find clean, properly coordinated frequencies. Quote
Michael Capulli Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 This makes sense. The 'u' and 'v' programmable presets are very valuable for me Quote
