I played with one at the Gotham Sound Expo last year. It sounded pretty good in the few seconds I spent listening to it. I was very impressed with the complete lack of cable noise too, even when I whipped the cable around and purposely tried to get it to make noise. That was one of the major selling points the Sony rep talked about too.

It is a fairly large lav - larger than COS-11, DPA, or Countryman.

They look exactly like the ECM-88:

I own a few of those for almost 10 years and like the sound and the ruggedness. They are smaller and shorter than Cos-11.

Downside: sound goes in through small slits on the side left & right. If you put them on a sticky, you have to be very careful not to block the openings.

some mounting techs dont work because of the openings on the side.

Essentially the ECM 88 replacement, I guess. - at least according to B&H...
