Paul F Posted January 6, 2021 Report Posted January 6, 2021 File this DIY under having more time than brains. I have a K-Tek Klassic pole with an internal cable. I want the removable-head feature of the Klassic Pro so that I can insert or remove the cable at-will without the need to un-solder. Of course, the easy answer is to sell the Klassic and buy a Klassic pro. But I really like to fabricate for the sake of fabricating and seeing what I can do. The first step is to heat up the head to soften the epoxy and then pull off the metal head. Then I made the two new parts that epoxy onto the pole and the head. Now the head can be unscrewed and the cable removed. Quote
Paul F Posted January 8, 2021 Author Report Posted January 8, 2021 Here's version 2. I thought why not make my own head, so now I've replaced the K-Tek head with my own, eliminating the holes for the knot. It makes for one less piece on the top. Quote
Johnny Karlsson Posted January 9, 2021 Report Posted January 9, 2021 Much better! That looks great, Paul. Maybe you could have a side business selling this as a kit... Quote
Paul F Posted January 24, 2021 Author Report Posted January 24, 2021 Ha. Yes, I can see sound mixers around the world demanding the kit. I'll be rich I tell ya! Rich! ..... On second thought, maybe not. It was a fun little project. Quote
sfxdude Posted April 17, 2022 Report Posted April 17, 2022 Really nice work on the second version, looks like it came that way. If it was black anodized to match I would think the company made it, def a nice part. Quote
