Tom,
Yea, its considerably lower than my 664 and my 633. I called them and they said they would look into it. Maybe a few more owners should let them know about it.
Yea I just tested it on my 664 and have a little boost over the 688 but not much. Maybe firmware? It might be a hardware limitation, a silly mistake if that's the case. My 788t has a ton of boost but then again it's routed through a mic pre.
So I'm dialing in my new 688 and have found the gain to be very weak on the ext slate mic in.
Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried a Sennheiser Me2 condenser and a Sure Dynamic lav on max gain (+36) with the same results.
I get good level at mouth distance but not at my typical 2ft ish for slating.
So I am moving to Spain in the near future and am hoping to get some insight from someone who may have done this already.
I will be shrinking my kit quite a bit for the move (most if not all in a pelican 1650) *Goodies in FS section soon :-)
My plan is to check the kit but whats the best way to navigate customs and avoid getting reamed?
Thanks!
Jesse
Very true. In my small circle of mixer buddies we naturally swap jobs when we're overwhelmed. It requires some trust and respect if that second call comes your way.
And yes, This has become my only sound forum I participate in because of the knowledge and experience all you guys and gals bring. Keeps my head in the game during the slow weeks... like now :-( Thanks Jeff
I dig the setup but am curious what you gain over the factory whips? I kinda get using an antenna distro in a bag with sharkfins because you gain the directional advantage of the fins. Isn't this two steps forward and one step back?
