  1. Jeff, while we are tweaking, I wrote a duplicate response in one of the threads and tried to delete it (with me signed in of course). I keep on getting this error message ([#103119.5] You do not have permission to carry out that function.) Can you help?
  2. Thanks for the input guys! Will take a look at those leads.
  3. The Belden supplier in South Africa won't bring in that cable as there is no demand for it! AArgh.... sometimes is sucks living in the back waters of Africa!!! Hoping the Mogami agent is a bit more compliant. Just need to find out what model or part number the cable is that Lectro use. ANYBODY??
  4. Time of day is a default time code stamp if there isn't an external source detected.
  5. Does any one know what the model or part number for the thin Mogami cable used by Lectrosonics/ Zaxcom is? I have the link to the list but don't know which one it is. Any help is gladly appreciated. http://www.mogamicable.com/category/bulk/ultra_flex_mini/
  6. Wave Agent software has been updated to revision 1.16. This new version addresses an iXML change that Wave Agent made to files it updated. The change caused WAV files to be unimportable in certain software applications. Download the latest revision of Wave Agent from the following link www.sounddevices.com/download/waveagent.html

    To Hop or not

I am absolutely shocked at the suggestion of a 3 day fortnight! Is it that the rental companies find us that have gear, a threat or are they just being spiteful! I urge ALL to fight this. It's so wrong!!
  8. Hi Malcom Unfortunately that's the wrong one. It's the SMA and not the SSMA connector which is what I am looking for. I have asked RS to source it for me but as it's not in their catalogue, they aren't interested in helping me. I think I might have a lead with Farnell in the UK. The one I wanted was: http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/49-04l-tgg/plug-ssma-right-angle-crimp/dp/1342634 but they are out of stock till October-ish so am going to try this one: http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/49-04v-1-tgg/plug-ssma-right-angle/dp/1342631 and hope I can make it work. I am a bit confused about how to attach the cable as the other one is a crimp type. I can only assume this is a solder type.
  9. Rich, thanks very much! I didn't know about the distributor in SA. There is a waiting period of 111 days for the SSMA connector but it's the best lead I've got so will go with that.
  10. Hi guys. Just following up on this thread. Has any one located these illusive suckers?? I've emailed Zaxcom but never got a reply. I also looked in UK but the best I found was: http://www.interfacecomponents.com/connectors_SSMA.html Turns out they are manufacturers who have a minimum order policy of 100 units. At this stage, it looks like the world is out of the right angled SSMA adapters so, forgetting the adapters for now, I am searching for the normal cable mounted crimping option so I can replace my straight connector (which is now very bent) on the filtered antenna cable with a right angled version like the one in actualsizeaudio's photo. The other thing is all I need are 2 (one as a spare) and to have those freighted to South Africa is financially prohibitive. So if there is any kind soul out there in the US of A that can get 2 for me, put them in a padded envelope and airmail it to me, I would be eternally grateful. Naturally, I will pay for all costs. PM me! Many thanks!
  11. I wonder if there is something a little more permanent than using gaffers tape over the holes. I guess the warranty will be void if I open it up to put some gauze on the inside.
  12. Thanks Jack. Wasn't sure about doing that for fear of it blowing up!! Which would potentially ruin my day.....
  13. Although I understand they are there for a reason- to thermo regulate, I am a bit concerned by the air vent holes on the receiver. I've just been working in a very dusty environment and fear that the boards might eventually get damaged with prolonged exposure to the elements. My next assignment is by and on the sea so my concern too is the fine sea spray that could get through and settle on the boards inside- and we know what sea spray eventually does to metal! As this is a newly designed unit, not too many people would have put it through it's paces in extreme environments but the durability and longevity of the receiver does worry me some. Any one else with similar concerns? I know this is a Zaxcom technical question (I have sent a similar email to them but never got a response- it's not a dig! I understand they are very busy) but would it be a possibility to put a gauze/ mesh on the inside of the unit so it can still breath yet repel environmental hostilities?
  14. Just seen this listing someone pulled from Craig's list! Good for a laugh!! I have an ok idea for a film. I need a committed dp/producer/sound guy (hopefully someone who can do all of these things) for the remainder of the summer. You must be a professional. You must have gear, also have a reliable car because there will be a lot of traveling. I will pay ALL the tolls. Also, my uncle has agreed to make you business cards. good luck! ps--Those who are willing to rent a car will also be considered.
  15. I'm a South African and have never heard of Chocolate Block. Guess you guy's are the privileged few who get to taste our wonderful exports. Am going to check it out when I get home. I'm in Brazil at the moment so it's Caipirinha's all round! Cheers!!
  16. I have a QRX100/ TRX900 wireless hop system and am also looking to buying a second QRX with 2 TRX 900LTH's for the talent mic's. What worries me is the fact that there is mention of a drop in range in dual mode. With the new transmitters outputting 125mW, wouldn't there now be an improvement in the range and therefore a better signal? Added to that question, would one need a 2 block separation between the hop and talent mic's or is that a Zaxcom/ Lectro issue. In other words could the hop AND talent mic's be in the same block?
  17. Excellent- Didn't see it hiding there. Thanks!
  18. I never got that print out. Do you have a link by any chance? I've looked on the Zaxcom website and can't find it. Sounds like a useful bit of info to have.
  19. Many thanks for that very helpful bit of information. You hit the nail on the head and given me the solution! The timecode input cable is wired to the tip and not the ring. I never found any info relating to the wiring of the cable and though it to be standard for the tip to be connected. Kind Regards Sebastian
  20. I wonder if someone can help me. I recently purchased the QRX100 with the IFB board and am battling to sync the receiver with a timecode signal out of a camera. It is entirely possible that I'm doing something wrong but I find that it works on some days and not on others. Today I manually entered a timecode (time of day) in the IFB Home menu so at least I have some sort of reference going to my 552. I have looked through the manual but can't find an answer to my delema. It looks as though there are 2.5 pages of info missing in the manual on the IFB option section. I have set the IFB to "auto jam" in the extended IFB menu and it still doesn't read. I tried 2 camera's and still have the problem. Any answers to allay my frustration will be gladly appreciated! Sebastian
  21. Thanks, good to know! If it makes the switching quieter than what I am hearing, I will be a happy man.
  22. I've been having the same issue lately. I have a 411a (version 4.0 firmware) and an SM transmitter. I've been working in quite a built up area so thought the RF was bouncing around a bit affecting the phasing on the RX. I noticed the "flipping" you mentioned on the LCD. Would an update of the firmware help solve the issue?
