Hi Jeff, It used to be when I did a google search for anything on this site, it would return a ton of hits, which kept me busy reading for years on end. It was better than the native search engine. However, it doesn't seem to be the same lately and a topic that should return dozens of threads will return only one or two. Did something change? It may not have been recent, but I was curious. My string is normally something like: "whatever I am searching site: jwsoundgroup.net".

Hello Jeff, I am trying to search for old posts regarding the Sound Devices 688 recorder and some USB connexion failure. It does give me a "0 result" even for "688" on its own, which looks like is a database issue. I guess that might be following the update few months ago? (Or all post regarding the 688 have been automatically deleted since the release of the 8 series ?🤣 -joking-). Shall I create a new post for my question although I am sure the topic has been discussed before? Thanks for your help

Hey Jeff - this morning, I got a white page saying something about cloud flare is checking to make sure the site is safe or similar, then the page went blank. Everything looks normal again this afternoon. Just wondering if it’s something that was supposed to happen because of new features you may have installed? Or should I worry that something bad may have infiltrated the site?

Not really, but the new indicators of time spent as a forum member is a bit wonky. I don't care in my own case (I'm so old as to be retired) but I really would at least be a rookie after all these years :):):):) D.

Hey friends - I am in the process of provisioning an online course as part of the Music Production Master's Degree at Berklee Online. The course is essentially a balloon ride over the creative (mainly) and technical (enough to be interesting, but by no means a comprehensive treatment) considerations of cinema audio. The early part of the ride touches on location audio. It would be really illustrative of the craft if I could make use of a photo or two from your great shots of carts and bags here on the forum. Would that be cool? Cheers JW

Not sure if others are running into this, it is happening both on my computer and phone, multiple browsers tested... I’ve noticed over the past day or so that only new posts are being added to the forum view, and new comments aren’t added to the count or bumping the post up. The activity feed is current but as far as I can tell the forums aren’t keeping up. anyone else seeing this? Also, this post got an error when posting, code EXO. That would also explain the other recent multiple post issues

On a whim, I tried loading up the secure HTTPS version of this site (https://jwsoundgroup.net versus http://jwsoundgroup.net). Before, I usually got an error message since the site doesn’t have HTTPS enabled, but what I get today is something totally unexpected… Tried it in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, with my browser extensions enabled, with my browser extensions disabled, and on my phone using mobile data. Same thing. Is it happening for anyone else? https://jwsoundgroup.net

I have a tendency to make one or two edits to most things I post, usually to re-word something or to add onto the post. Recently, I edited this recent post in the Zoom F8n topic probably six times as I found more and more things to put in it, and part of me felt guilty thinking I might break something on the site as a result, or that you (Mr. Wexler) might have a flood of notifications about it. I figured I should make sure: Does repeatedly editing a post pose any harm to the site or be a nuisance for you or Laurence (or anyone else for that matter)?

Kudos Jeff. I happened to catch this 1979 movie on TV last night and right in the beginning, prominently credits our friend Jeff. Great movie all around and the dialog was crystal clear. I'm curious what was used for mics, recorders, ect. I don't recall any good wireless around then, but I was in the music biz at that time. Do you have any production snapshots you can post?

Hi, I've had a problem since a couple of month. When i try to log in it always says that my password is incorrect (although i know it's correct) and the only way to log in is to ask for a new password by clicking "forgot your password". I've tried to log out and log back in just after resetting my password but it doesn't work. I have to ask for a new one again. Is it a known problem and is there a fix? Thanks a lot and thanks for keeping this super useful forum running! Ben

This is a quote from post #6 in this thread: http://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/28968-super-cmit-and-wireless-phase-issues/ So Jeff, what's up with that? User error, someone logging in as another user, someone with superuser/admin access run amok, an IPS bug? Anything we or you can do to avoid this sort of thing in the future? Or do I need (even more additional) enlightenment about something?

Hey Jeff--I forwarded you an email from my ISP, we can't figure out why my office and studio computers suddenly can't load JWSOUNDGROUP at all (blank page, or hung on the first page). I'm accessing the site now through my phone's "personal hotspot"! All the other sites I go to are ok, we switched DNS from our ISP to Google on our router, updated browsers, tried IE, Firefox, Safari on 3 or 4 computers--no go. Bummer. Let me know (by email I guess) if your ISP sees anything that wold cause this issue for me. I don't see anyone else complaining, so I guess it's just my path affected. thanks

Hi Jeff, I am using safari mobile browser on iPhone with 10.0.2 "New Content" is my go to link, but today had to scroll through a pile of photos, one at a time, that were added to gallery by nullsound. Each one appeared as a new topic. I don't recall additions to the gallery being on new content feed before. I'd prefer it wasn't. Not fun scrolling through photos on mobile device looking for new content. Thanks :-)

Don't know if it is just my coal-fired computer, or whether the trans Atlantic lines are playing up...but the site is VERY slow in loading each button press I make. All other web sites are OK. Nick.

Note: Jeff here, as Administrator, I am able to EDIT posts which is what I am doing now. This post, which is basically an image since you were unable to enter text, shows up in the regular Text Editor box that I am typing in now. This is a very weird problem that seems to be affecting a few, mostly located outside the US. I will continue to try and get to the bottom of this.
