We hope to release the documentation and software soon. Glenn
  2. We can disagree on this but IMHO fitting more frequencies in less space is the most important thing for some of our customers. Glenn
  3. Lets not lump these 2 together Rado. ZHD allows 4 times the density of the other system. While both may fit your needs I would not want anyone to think they were the same in this respect.
  4. "Totally agree, but i couldn't find the latency info on your site and it is nice to publish this." ZHD is currently unreleased and is in Beta testing. When the product is released the latency of each ZHD mode that we may offer and there may be more than one will be published. Till then this figure is subject to change + or -. Glenn
  5. The exact specification of latency on any wireless system in a production environment is to a point , totally irrelevant. Since all modern mixer /recorders have delay on their inputs all audio sources, analog, analog with DSP processing, digital wireless or anything else can be time aligned by the recorder as they are right now. Latency is mostly important when wireless is used as part of the chain of an in ear monitor system. As no one has a problem using Zaxcom wireless Sennheiser digital, Lectro or anything else with delay I do not see this as a relevant concern as all systems have different latency . No latency is best. Anything else is just a matter of setting a matching delay on other sources. Our customers have found that 3-5 mS of LAV mic delay works out very well as it helps to match Lav and wired boom time frames. As a side note, usually 100s of mS of delay are added to audio in a live broadcast to match the multiple frames of video delay so in this application wireless latency is not a limiting factor. Even in theatre the distance of speakers from the center of the audience is a longer delay time than the latency of any wireless system I know of. Some 2.4 gig wireless mics might break that rule though. Glenn
  6. Battery life does not change with ZHD. 6 Hours with a TRXLA3 and about 3.5 Hours with a TRXLT3. Glenn
  7. Same as xr. Antenna diversity vs receiver diversity.
  8. Call your favorite dealer if you would like to place an order. Glenn
  9. Zaxcom High Density Wireless At NAB Zaxcom introduced ZHD. This new wireless transmission mode breaks new ground in the area of broadcast wireless microphones. Here is some key information: Channel spacing is as close as 100 kHz (60 channels in 6 MHz) The operating distance can be up to double our current system RF reflections enhance the transmission No intermodulation Internal transmitter recording RF remote control with ZaxNet Ultra accurate automatic time code recording reference (No Cable Jamming) 100 MHz transmitter tuning range 200 MHz receiver tuning range 90 mW output power in ZHD mode The most common question we had at the show of "Can a QRX200 be used in dual mode with two transmitters" has now been answered. The answer is yes! Using a new TRXLA3, TRXLT3 or a TRX743 transmitter the QRX200, QRX235 and RX12 can all receive 2 transmitters per receiver with a minimum channel spacing of 200KHz. I want to thank everyone for coming by to see us at NAB. Glenn
  10. Tim Munger wants it wired, too may problems with Wifi in his past.
  11. No Rado. Zaxnet is not WiFi at all. In fact it is completely different. It only shares the 2.4 gig band with WiFi. We use wireless mics because we have to. Going with a cable in a sound bag for touch is just good practice. WiFi would not be as reliable and the last thing we need is more wireless stuff on set. Hardwire where possible. If you need a WiFi touch then you can do it. Glenn
  12. While I am not familiar with the Sonosax, wireless VS wired is not a measure of how advanced a product is. If someone wanted to use the touch in a wireless mode is easy to do but it is not recommended. I like our products to function under all circumstances not just when Wifi channels are favorable. There have been other WiFi solutions put out that were dismal failures we do not want to go there. But if that is what you want you can get it set up. Glenn
  13. This is not the case, just the opposite is true. The more narrow ZHD signal will have a 4 times better immunity to being interfered with vs a wider signal. Glenn
  14. Rado and the other NAB sound mixers tested the ZHD zaxcom whips to whips and got well over 500 feet as Jack and Jose did in midtown manhatten. There is no limitation here.
  15. I think the answer is Zaxcom does 60 channels in 6 MHZ spectrum and no one does 20 from what I know. I think Audio is 15 with 400khz spacing. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  16. With ZHD modulation you will find Zaxcom wireless to be the new range champion over any wireless system at comparable power levels. We will have a unit to Arietec soon for demo. Glenn
  17. Just a small correction here. It is our goal to make the QRX200, QRX235 and RX212 modules for the RX12 receive 2 transmitters with only a software upgrade. This may or may not be possible. We will know this summer. T-1 and counting Glenn
  18. Thanks Vas. Lots more big new stuff to be announced at NAB. T-3 days and counting.
  19. So the generation 3 transmitters will be able to transmit on the old standard as well, correct? Yes - Will the TRX743 record in stereo? If in stereo mode yes - Will there be a Timecode/Mono out on the TRX743? Yes if you mean RF transmission Glenn
  20. SIze and weight are very reasonable for 12 channels of receiver. If you need fewer channels QRX200s are a better option. At NAB we will have a very nice Demo that I am sure will do the trick when it comes to back pain and weight related health problems. Glenn
  21. Yes you can select XR on the new TRXLA3. While ZHD modulation will not be initially available in Dual mode on the QRX200. We hope that we can get it to work with a software only change some time in the future. For now it is a single transmitter receiver when in ZHD mode.
  22. With 9 dB better signal to noise the range is double by definition. I do not want to think what the lens rental might be for a new video. ;-)
  23. ZHD requires a new transmitter but is compatible with all Zaxcom receivers.. Glenn
