  1. Oasis - H 3″ W 10.75 D 12.75″ CL12 - H 2.1 W 12.6 D 7.8 in The Oasis dimensions are accurate. I do not believe the CL-12 dimensions are correct.
  2. Really, Motorized faders provide instant access to different fader configurations and allow us to do some very cool things other than fader level control. 8 fader cart panels have been around for a long time. Making the panel with 8 motorized faders make it more flexible for both Cart and insert car operation. Allowing the board to match current input levels when channels are assigned to faders and remembering fader positions in snapshots are great features supported by the motorized faders. Input trim controls that both control preamps in the Nomad and preamps in the wireless are essential to a great small mixer. I would think this might be top of the list for anyone considering this type of system. Combine this with the touch screen GUI and what you get is a very intuitive powerful system. Have a look at the Oasis video on Gotham sounds web site. LINK to video on Gotham website The Oasis is 1 inch deeper than the CL-12 and much narrower making it a better fit for insert cars. I do not see how it can not be considered an even more perfect form factor ;-) If anyone wants the Oasis to be even smaller it can be shipped without the wood trim making it an identical size to the other product. 3. Thank you Nate and Crew. I feel every product is a challenge for me and Howy. If we can not do it in a way that pushes the limits of technology and imagination we are not satisfied. I think the RX200 is one of our best bits as it pushes the limits of battery life and RF filtering in what I call my battery box with a receiver built around it. Best Wishes Glenn
  4. "I need more innovation from Zaxcom and not a redundant old school product." Do not fear Rado. Muppet labs is hard at work. Glenn
  5. Hold the #4 key as you boot the unit up this should restore the screen. You may need to do a factory restore after this. Glenn
  6. Because the TRX742 has a low noise converter we have about 3 dB of dynamic range that would need to be compressed to fit into our transmission channel. Lowering the gain a few dB or using the compressor are the options.
  7. QRX200 flux capacitor filter is in the RX200. Glenn
  8. We will be looking for customer feedback on the OLED display before we do anything else with it. I am very happy so far with the look of the display and it seems like it will be the way forward. We will be delivering the RX200 soon and we will see. Glenn
  9. I was wondering when someone would notice the power switch position. This has been corrected. Glenn
  10. No vents are required. The units power requirement is 1.5W so it does not need any ventilation and never gets hot. This is one of the benefits of 12 Hour battery life. Glenn
  11. Battery life is as follows: Lithium Ion 12 hours NiMh 8.5 hours Alkaline 7 hours Since the unit will run from 4 to 18 volts I am going to try 4, 3.6 V rechargeable AA size batteries. This should be interesting. Glenn

    RF Killer

Every antenna needs some type of ground to operate. With smaller transmitters this could become a factor. It would be easy to do a test with an A/B comparison at identical power levels. Glenn

    RF Killer

The smaller the transmitter pack the worse the radiation from it will be. The pack itself is part of the antenna. It has to act as a proper counterpoise for the antenna in order for it to work well. This might be a factor in this situation. 50mW does not help here either. Glenn
  14. Wow, Jack you have no chance as a hand model. ;-)
  15. The idea that if you don't own Zaxcom wireless you would be better off with a non Zaxcom product is misguided. If you remove the benefits of Zaxnet and just compare each product feature by feature Nomad 12 has many other benefits that make it more than worthy of consideration. To use Zaxnet all you need is a ERX2TCD to begin using RF time code distribution and IFB. Zaxcom wireless is not needed to get the benfits of Zaxnet. The buttons on the Nomad are not "membrane". Each button has a metal contact that provides a positive contact feel when pressed. The buttons are water proof and we have never had a complaint from a customer regarding the feel that the switch provides. The reliability of the switch panel is excellent and in fact better than other switch technologies. A "Joystick" and a button are two different things. Buttons are buttons and Joysticks are Joysticks. Lets talk about Zaxnet, MARF and Neverclip. These are the features you will use everyday to make a difference in the audio you deliver to your clients and how professional you feel at the end of the day. Glenn
  16. I would like to get some clarification of this 132 dB dynamic range specification. Since from what I am told there is only a single A-D converter used on each analog input how can this 132dB number be accurate? The best A-Ds are about 120dB dynamic range. Can someone explain what is going on here? Glenn
  17. Sonotechnique in Montreal is also a dealer. If they can not help you Gotham sound, Professional Sound services and the Audio Department in Burbank all have rental gear as well. Glenn
  18. Approvals are finished and the products are good to go. Trew Audio will have an announcement early next week. Glenn
  19. Please ask the person who had the problem to call us directly so we may sort out the problem. We may need to get his MARF card here. Thanks Glenn
  20. The Nomad headphone control is a pot and the menu control is an encoder. They do ware out but are very easy to replace as they are just soldered to the front panel board. These two controls hold up well but would be part of a maintenance that would be done every few years depending on use of the product. Glenn
  21. It sounds like you may need different delays for different people. Our ERX monitors will allow for each person to have their own delay. We are just adding the ability to remote control the feature so all ERXs can be changed at one time from Nomad or the IFB transmitter. Hope this helps. It is adjustable in milliseconds. Best Wishes Glenn
  22. There is no system for recording that is comparable to Zaxcom MARF (Mobile Audio Recording Format). Other systems either constantly write a directory to try to minimize the loss of audio in the case of a problem and or provide multiple power backups in a effort to eliminate data corruption due only to power interruption. MARF is the only system that embeds the file directory directly into the audio data so that audio can be recovered with no directory present and without special software or 3rd party data recovery services. MARF is a catch all for bad media, accidental erasure and any source of file system errors that might under a normal FAT32 file system make it impossible to recover recorded audio data. Glenn
  23. The new software has been tested and verified. Compairing the reader vs generator time code display on Nomad is not ever going to be exactly accurate as it is not a piece of test equipment. Time code offsets can only be compaired with a device that is made to show the difference between time code in 1/100 of a frame of less. If there are any bugs in the new feature they will be quickly taken care of and an update will be available. Glenn
  24. I think this new feature makes the ERX into a new product. It was never intended to be a stand alone time code generator but if people are going to use it as that then we need to make it the best it can be. I am very happy with the results we have achieved with this and I am happy that we can give it to all ERX2TCD customers. Glenn
