  1. The 664 is very picky with the cards used. Even with the approved Sandisk SDXC ultra 30MB/s card, there are slow media warning. The following combination of cards seem to work very well and error free with 16 track recordings on the 664. YMMV. The 32GB Delkin CF700 works very well too even though it's not an approved card. 2. Matt, sent you a PM. Sammy Huen
  3. I bought my Fusion 12 on March of 2011 and the FX package was included. Sammy Huen
  4. Rob, I can certainly do without that gooseneck used to hold the dipole. I can reposition that setup. The antenna mast with 2 sharkfins is on this setup as well. They're just not visible in this pic. I mount it on one of the boom pole holders. Depending on how much I angle the bag, it sits approx 2-3 inches above the uprights. Sammy Huen
  5. Is your Venue a wideband or a block specific model? If it is block specific, say for blk 27-28, then the blk 26 modules will not work. Sammy Huen
  6. I would be very interested in seeing a cover the the Foldup cart! Since I don't use the top lift off half shelf anyway, maybe a single unit may be just fine. It would be nice to have front access and some side access using velcro, much like Petrol Bags. The rear of the cover should have some access to allow antenna mast, cables to exit the cart cover. Not really a good pic but this is how I have my Foldup Cart set up. Not shown in pic is the sharkfins. Everyone have their carts set up very differently. The cover may need to be flexible to accommodate the different cart setups. Can't wait to see some prototypes of the cover!! BTW, I may be due for an SU cart soon though.
  7. Hey Trev, you can go on the Zaxcom Forums and make the suggestion. If enough people suggest it, maybe Zax will incorporate it. However it seems there's a long list of unanswered feature requests for the Fusion/Devas now that Zax's focus is on the Nomad.
  8. The only reason I know is cause I have done the same thing before and wondered why my R1a sounded muffled. Sammy Huen
  9. When you first power up the LMA, did the LED blink 5 times to indicate that it is in IFB mode? What you described sounds like the LMA was in 400 mode. Sammy Huen
  10. My first pair of 7506 lasted 12 years. Definitely got my money's worth with that one. Little did I know how bright and thin it was starting to sound until I purchased a new pair. Sammy Huen
  11. That would be a really nice option to have on the 664. Since the fader position can be read in software, it shouldn't take much to implement code to mute ISO track when fader is closed. I doubt enough people would ask for this to make it a worthwhile feature for SD to add though. There is a long list of other features requested right now already. Sammy Huen
  12. Similar to what JohnPaul described, I have worked on a few reality-type projects using Post-Fader ISO. There are situations where it was very important that the cast's off camera dialog cannot be recorded for certain security reasons. When you have a large cast of 7-10 all mic'd, you run into a situation where not all of them will be on camera at once and cast will step in and out of "scenes" spontaneously. When they're off camera I will pot them down and none of that dialog will be recorded. I lose the safety of a pre-fade ISO and I'm OK with that. I have gotten really good at dealing with it and have the ability to bring up the right channel at the right time in a non-rehearsed environment. I would mix the ISO with levels in place.....when all ISO tracks are combined and levels are set to zero, they in a way recreates the Mix track. This way noise reduction and clothing rub cleanups can still be done as ISO tracks in post as well as a remix if necessary. Contrary to what many thinks, the editors on these projects LOVES this workflow. They import all tracks and leave all the tracks in the timeline. Only the dialog that needs to be there is there. No more hearing Cast A and C talking about their dirty laundry off camera, while Cast B is on the phone with his former ex-girlfriend's friend just to sort out the single channel OTF from Cast E. There has also been incompetent editors complaining that there are too many tracks to deal with. They needed to sort out the 8 pre-fade ISOs and mix track and gets lazy, so they just end up using camera audio from the hops. I would not use this workflow on a scripted TV drama or feature. But for certain projects, Post-Fade ISO has it's place.
  13. It's a modded PS601 which should be the around the same size as a Pegz-1. Sammy Huen
  14. Took the rig out on real light duty so far so haven't had a chance to truly test it out. I will do so in the next couple weeks though. Sammy Huen
  15. Whether or not it's useful for location sound, this is one hell of a cool website.
  16. The Transcend 400X 32GB cards won't run properly on the 664. They would mount and format fine at first. Then when you power up next time, the 664 won't recognize the card. After a few restarts, it may get recognized again. I would avoid them completely for the 664. This same card runs fine on my Fusion 12 recording 12 tracks.
  17. I got a foldup cart....just like yours....I think it is strong enough to hold up an 18lb bag.
  18. Second 664 Rig. Petrol PS617, Lectro SRB. 2 UM400A, LMa, NP-1/BDS. Weighs in at 16lbs 9oz.
  19. The bag is a Petrol PS601. I had to cut the rear cross brace to make it fit and it is a VERY tight fit. The zippers can't exactly close all the way. It works great though. Had a run and gun gig through the woods and the bag was solid! Justin is right, it's a Schoeps CMC6/MK41 for the indoor stuff. Sammy Huen
  20. I ordered a couple Sandisk Extreme Pro from Amazon/Adorama. The pic shows a UDMA 6 card but they sent UDMA 7 cards. This seem to be the case of you order from B&H as well. Sammy Huen
  21. Hey James, is it possible to share the Freq Finder data among a few iPhones? Let's say I coordinated all the frequency for a certain location/production. I want to share the data among the other members of the sound team who also has Freq Finder on their iPhones. Is there an easy way to do so? Sorry if this has been discussed. I didn't catch it if it was. Sammy Huen
  22. I agree. They are very solidly built units. My FF 400 is has been great in the studio and in the field. Sammy Huen
  23. Wow!!!! Looks like Peter is the biggest Gearslut of 2012!! Congrats!!! Now I feel a lot less sluttier. Sammy Huen
