Roland R-88 MIDI Fader UnitTOMOCA TMF-08-R

126,000 yen

Isn't this quite expensive for a midi fader board?

that is difficult to say...

Not if you have access to a currency converter.

The Midi port on the R-88 is actually a pretty good idea, depending on the protocol. It could allow access via dozens of low-cost and more expensive midi controllers. Motorized fader panel?

It's no motorized fader.

My friend made request, need mute and solo button.

I asked Question to Roland Staff, Now Roland dose not make a R-88's mixer.

No, I know it's not motorized. What I meant was if the R88 supports well-known Midi Control formats, such as HUI, then any Midi controller could be used. Even one with motorized faders. If it only supports proprietary formats, I'd question the use of a Midi port...

The R-88 already has a mixer built in. That can be controlled via the midi interface. And it can record a stereo mixdown in addition to the 8 iso tracks - if I read their website correctly.

So this whole Midi thing is actually a pretty cool idea, I think, depending on the implementation

I am tempted to try Lemur for the R-88. I use the JL Cooper fader master pro and its actually pretty good but no solo. Seems the same with Lemur but at least I can throw my iphone in my bag and have a mini fader. Roland needs to give us something better than just faders and mutes.

Maybe It is possible. If you can use Lemur for the R-88, I help you.

Tried to connect my 1gen korg nanokontrol directly to r-88. Roland see it and I suppose it should work but I need to configure nanokontrol properly. I'm not good at midi. So I'll appreciate if anyone helps me find the right way of configuring.

There is a R-88 MIDI Implementation list available online. And my nanokontrol accept CC commands. Is it possible to connect these devices?

Does it connected directly or using roland um-one usb/midi accessory?

I can configure CC comands using 'korg kontrol editor' but I don't know the required values for roland. Can you help with this?

i believe you may want to see this (and other) roland's videos:

Did you configure your nanokontrol2 or it just work with r88? I saw this video. It's specific to JLCooper config.
