GNinja Posted September 12, 2017 Report Posted September 12, 2017 Anyone tried Betsy's new slates yet? How they compare to ambient and denecke? Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
vitekcz Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 Yes, I've used it. It was the first sold Betso. I like it. It has all what you need from slate. The brightness is good. I haven't discovered any cons. Haven't used the new Ambient slate. In compare with old Ambient and Denecke. Quote
efksound Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I've received mine last week Really like the design , the construction, feels solid, plus of course all the new features it offers Paired with a TCX-2+ it makes sync very easy :-) Quote
Adam White Posted November 9, 2017 Report Posted November 9, 2017 I saw one in store the other day an it was really slick. Want! A Quote
dBm Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Got mine last week. SOFAR LOVE IT!. Using it paired to a tcx-2 transmitting continuously jammed from my 688. slightly smaller and more refined than old faithful ts-c. Comes in a hard storage case as does the tcx-2. How it holds up ...Time will tell... Quote
efksound Posted March 13, 2018 Report Posted March 13, 2018 New firmware released, to make it compatible with movie slate app Quote
johngooch Posted June 27, 2018 Report Posted June 27, 2018 Ok---now that there are more these sold... anymore feedback? Quote
GNinja Posted June 28, 2018 Author Report Posted June 28, 2018 As a one man band, this slate is great for docs and smaller productions. They are smaller compared to the Denecke TS-3. I've heard camera department doesn't like these as they are too small to write info on. So basically I can see this as a great travelling or small production slate like the TS-C, but not so much for main production. For the product itself, it's a great slate. I was worried the numbers may be hard to read but they seem fine. Build quality is great. What I'd like to see Betso do is make a larger version and a rain cover case for these. I really like the betso ecosystem and what they are offering. Quote
gareth Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Using one on a job right now, A & B cams have TS3's and C cam has the Betso. Working well so far and 2nd AC's love it. Have to change batts on TS3's every couple of days, Betso was going for 2 weeks before needing battery change. Quote

Neil Mc Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 Curious how these have held up since being released into the wild. They have many nice features, but can handle the physical abuse that the Denecke's do on a daily basis?? Quote
chinpou Posted July 1, 2024 Report Posted July 1, 2024 Also curious about this. In the market for my first timecode slate and comparing all the options out there... TS-C seems most ideal as a lot of my work is doc, but this isn't much bigger. Quote
