Eric Lau
What is the audio cables for AES? Need to use like 110obm high quality cable, cannot use the normal audio cable? I use on Lectrosonics DSR4 , SRB with AES plate, and install in Lectrosonics Octopack with audio cable to Sound Devices Scorpio.
Matthew Steel
AES is specified to use 110 ohm cable, but in my experience normal mic cable will work just fine for shorter runs. For example, I've used a 12 foot Canare star quad mic cable in a pinch on multiple occasions. I have also used regular XLR to RCA adapters to go between AES and SPDIF because the specifications are close enough.
Philip Perkins
I have gotten away with normal XLR mic cable or even 75 ohm video cables (with BNCs) for really short jumps. For an upcoming show where I need runs from 10-20 ft I'm going to use 110 ohm XLR cables spec'ed for AES audio use.
RadoStefanov
For short cables it does not matter the kind of cable.

This! 25-footers for me with no problem I could see or measure. I use 110ohm because it's "correct", but that's just me. D.
