7-core microphone cable for DMS setup?

Hey all, 

Do you have any recommendations for 7-core microphone cable for a DMS setup? The only specifically-7-core stuff I can find is designed for tube microphones (5 audio + 2 DC power). Does a simple 7-core audio microphone cable exist? Or is everyone just adapting 4-pair Mogami or Canare?

I use a mogami 4 ch snake for my dms setup. I wired it with the same breakouts as my old camera snake using the same wire.  There may be a thinner option out there, but i’m never booming with it so it’s never been an issue.

5.4mm overall.

Wires are not separated by twisted pairs but this is absolutely not an issue for "short" extensions (certainly up to 10 meters with a DMS unit).

Good to know you don’t get any cross talk without twisted pairs!  I’m guessing this is the wire used inside my dms pianissimo?  It’s small and flexible.

The Mogami 2814-00 (5.4mm) is very convenient for extensions, up to a breakout cable.

The cable we use inside Pianissimo is much thinner (around 3mm) and very flexible. Expensive manufacturing (medical/military specifications).

Both do not have twisted pairs, as crosstalk is not that risky for a limited length.

If you need more length, you can also find cables with twisted pairs like the 2840 (or 2841) used for the Schoeps "ORTF-SURROUND" (or "3D"), that has to be hanged in the middle of stadiums.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! They seem like great candidates, but unfortunately they are just that little bit too hard to get a hold of here in Australia without paying either exorbitant prices or international shipping. 

 

I ended up with 20 meters of faithful old Canary MR202-4AT. It is a little bit thicker than I was hoping (7.6mm), but it is going to get flogged out in the world so it'll work out...

Are you from Cinela? If so, may I ask a related question? Do you still make/stock Piano cables for the Soundfield SPS200 microphone? I would love to grab one if you do?
