john.e.perkin
Hello guys, it's been a few months since I posted here but I though I'd share a new creation with you all. It's a 4 Pin Hirose to USB cable, good for charging your phone or other USB device from your cart or sound bag. Variations in length or with XLR4M or Locking DC jack available upon request. 5v to 30v input. http://bluecowcables.com/product.php?id_product=116 Thanks, John Perkin www.bluecowcables.com
Solid Goldberger
Nice! That looks like a very nicely designed product. If I wanted to order one of these wired with the locking DC connector (for BDS), how do I go about doing that. I don't see an option for that on the website. e. soundslikejustin
I'm assuming it has the 2.0v and 2.8v on the data pins of the USB connector to facilitate charging current iPhones etc at 1A? How is the stepdown performed? Linear or switching? Looks very rugged. Nice one.
john.e.perkin
As it's regulated the step down is done by switching, it's good for up to 30v It does indeed have 2v and 2.8v over the data pins. VM
I have already commanded one to charge my cell phone on my hankwood NP1 shoe adapter. Very useful idea. Vinc.

Actualsizeaudio
I got mine in the mailbox today after ordering it less than a week ago. It's really well made! I'm very happy with it.
dominiquegreffard
i ordered one as well last week, i look forward to use it and let you guys know how well it's working, should i have any concern about using a usb splitter to feed several usb devices (a lamp, cooldown fan and multiple ipod chargers)? thanks! john.e.perkin
The specification states 1 Amp, you might be able to get 1.5 or even 2 from it (not advised), but if your trying to pull that much current from a single USB port it would be probably better for me to make you something with more USB ports and able to give 3 to 4 Amps output. Solid Goldberger
Just as an update, I've been using mine for a week now, and it works perfectly. There's a little red LED on the end that indicates that its connected properly, which is a nice touch. e.
Actualsizeaudio
John. Do you think that making a hirose to mag-safe power cable (macbook pro) is within your abilities? Would be great for the plane.
Solid Goldberger
They already do! http://bluecowcables.com/product.php?id_product=56 Just ask them to put a Hirose on there instead of the XLR4M and you should be all set. john.e.perkin
I could put a 4 pin Hirose onto that, however ensure that your power source is able to take it as it could blow your regulators if they are present since the current draw is about 5A from those units. hobbiesodd
Hello All - I am in the market for a 4pin hirose male to regulated USB female cable. (The above link no longer works.) I've scoured the net and can only find some Chinese ones of dubious quality. Pro-Sound has one on their site, but ideally it would be a dual USB output. Normally I would make it myself but I am in the process of moving and have no usable workshop and tools handy, and time is of the essence. Does anyone here have a line on where I could procure one? Not sure why they didn't show up in my search.... I was hoping for a CONUS local for the sake of expediency, but these will work if I can't find one.
