  1. I was actually looking into purchasing some. Does anyone know where I can purchase some?
  2. I went on wave report and mentioned what I want to see: A dual receiver for starters to monitor 2 TX's A never clip option like what Zaxcom is doing with the 200 series An IFB option like Lectrosonics is doing Finally an ENG system to go wireless boom
  3. Please let me know how it works out for you.
  4. Hey Derek, great insight I'll take it into account. I do however have a question for you in that respect... If not a pelican 1650 then what do you recommend? About it being heavy I understand completely. But as it stands, I'm logging a lot of gear with me already, in fact more than I can handle. Be as it may, I still need a case to organize my equipment and bags do not work all that much for me. So again I ask, which case or other brands do you recommend if not the pelican 1650?
  5. Hey Dalton, Thanks for your comment and compliment, it's very important to know what others think. I'm sorry about your HF experience, if there is one thing I can't tolerate is bad customer service. As for now, I'll continue using my current case and wait until I get a new shotgun mic and boom pole. hopefully by the end of the year I'll have enough money to play with. I'll keep you posted with what I have going on.
  6. As the filming season here in Chicago is in full swing, I along with other sound mixers have been getting busier. Which brings me to my topic of discussion, what gear should I get next. I recently purchased a Stanley storage tool box (as seen in the photos down below) from my local Target. It's retail value is only $10 US at the time I bought it. So far, it has sufficed and provided me with a momentary solution, and has kept me organized. However, this has only helping store my two G4 wireless kits, and sound essentials, meaning I still need a pelican case or something similar as my gear increases. So if someone has a used Pelican case they want to get rid of, please let me know, I am looking for a 1650 or something similar.
  7. I'm wondering if you can do a feed like this on DSLR's, do you know if that can be done? I was on a shoot not too long ago and someone posed the same question. The one only thing I was able to respond was you can on an ARRI ALEXA and a RED, but wasn't sure about DSLR's.
  8. Thanks Philip, and thanks David, I'll review all the mics mentioned and consult with my wallet before I make my mind.
  9. I'm a little late in doing this, but I actually just finished updating to the 4.10 firmware of the Zoom F8. I didn't see the point to updating to that firmware since I wasn't intending on buying the Sennheiser Ambeo VR Mic, or any of that class. Seeing is how things are changing for me, I've had a change of heart. So my question is, what has everyone's experience been with this mic and is there a cheaper alternative that isn't a Rode mic?
  10. I had a bad experience with the Lectro R1A's, and never again will I go back. I'm sticking with Comteks, they are much easier to set up and they do the job!
  11. Hey Dalton, The Nanolokits are my next investments within the next 2 months. I'm hoping to at least get two, how do you like them so far?
  12. Constantin thanks for your comment so far I'm sold. I'm getting some Viviana straps next.
  13. Perfect answer, as it stands I already made my decision in buying Viviana for now. I will however get some URSA's as well later on down the road. But for now, we're gonna give Viviana's a try. That sounds great, I would love to hear your opinion and comparison of both. All I have to say is that NeoPax needs to up their game because the current straps get wet and slides off very easily. Plus they need at to least have an additional pouch for excess wires. David that's great to know I'll be sure to purchase some safety pins. Speaking of which URSA has these single pouches where you can hide them on talent. It requires using a safety pin on the waist of the back of the pants, this is especially great for male actors of larger frames. Probably something to consider I believe they run for 15 dollars US but I'm not certain, I know Gotham Sound has and Chicago very own Second City Sound has them.
  14. Earlier this afternoon I saw the Gotham sound presentation of the Viviana Straps. Like the URSA straps, they have come in beige and black, they are thin and don't heat up like my current Neo Packs. They also both contain a non allergenic polyurethane for extra grip so the pack stays in place and won't slide off from sweat. For the price of $36 US, it's a done deal for me, I also like that it contains a two additional pouches for the excess wires. Who's used these, and what does everyone think of them? Would you prefer these over the URSA's? If you haven't made a decision yet, please take look at Gotham Sound review video here.
  15. Does anyone know if the AATON Cantar Mini comes with a world clock for timecode?
  16. Hello there S4Sound, I found this video a few days ago that contains all the info you need to know about frequency 600. This should give a better idea about what's going on in the States. It also has a pdf of the presentation itself I hope this helps.
  17. Hey Ryan Peds, have you ever heard of hide-a-mic microphone concealers? They are really great for when you're using a COS-11 mic. They they come with a hook or a holder you can attach to a bra. They run you about 16 dollars US on eBay or Amazon. Here's a video I found on YouTube video for you to check out. Good luck on your next shoot!
  18. I wonder if you can use some lavs wired for sennheiser on this little unit.
  19. That's a pretty sweet deal! I remember that video, funny how it never occurred to me to take this approach. Thanks David I'll keep this in mind! Hey Ryan, This is true when I purchased my Zoom F8 I got through a company called Zzounds, they have a pay as you go plan interest free. Currently as it stands If am to get this next film the weekend of the 2nd-the 4th of February I would have finished paying it off. My hope is to finance a the wireless and some laves so that I can at least start getting better jobs without having to rent or borrow so much gear. Thanks for your advice!
  20. Hey anzel2002, Stories like this are fascinating to me, what kind of gear was it? What did you end up purchasing afterwords? Hey Vas, I remember exactly whose youtube channel I was watching but I remember hearing that corporate jobs can purchase certain items for you if you can accept them as payment. I haven't any luck getting these jobs, but on a good note I'm getting close to paying off my paying my audio recorder. My next step is to buy a new or used wireless system, options are Lectrosonics or Zaxcom.
  21. Some time around the September of last year, I was approached by someone on Facebook to work on there feature doing sound. So I asked the potential client what was his budget, he responded $10,000 US. So I had the brilliant idea of charging him the cost of my current audio recorder the Zoom F8 in exchange for my services. Having mentioned money, he immediately went on to saying that this was a shoe string budget and that no one from the crew was getting paid. After respectfully declining, I decided to sell my one and only audio recorder which was the Zoom H4N, and bought my F8 on credit, which I'm still paying to this day. I wanted know if anyone on this platform has ever received equipment as payment from their clients, in exchange for ones services. If so, what would be the best way to go about this method? Thanks!
  22. Thanks David I'll keep that in mind, does this go for the same on the production sound mixer equipment swap off of Facebook?
