  1. I'm assuming it is DSLR's since that is what they always use. I could be wrong, and forgive me if I don't have more info to give as I am barely being given bits and pieces of info about the shoot. The Producers, although they pay well and are really nice, are still learning so at times I need to advise them as to how things should be done.
  2. Hot damn! I knew this was coming. I bet you guys that once that TV hits we can start saying goodbye to DISH, DirectTV, etc. That TV is going to change the way we get our media and the speed in which we do business. I did a gig a few weeks ago with Jessica Simpson. The shoot started in the morning since it was an all day thing. By the time the afternoon hit, the footage that was just shot had already aired on TV and the internet. Heck, we were still filming the ending segments in a hotel room when her assistant said people were already Tweeting and Facebook'n about what just happened a few hours ago. I couldn't believe it. Heck, I can also see how ANYONE can have their own "tv channel" much like people now a days have are getting famous by blogging. I just hope the internet service providers can keep up with the massive increase in data rates. Then again, isn't the world suppose to explode on 12/21/12? Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
  3. I think for what I'm doing the G3 method just might suffice. The company I'm trying to do all this stuff for only shows their videos online. Still, I'd hate to get lazy/sloppy on account of my employer not needing super clean audio.
  4. Your suspicion is incorrect Sherlock. If there is a better way of doing what I was hoping to do then I would gladly adopt that method since chances are you guys worked out all the kinks. From what I gather it doesn't seem like I can get around having to send them my audio files if they want better sound. Oh well. Thanks a lot for always chiming in though. I can always count on the Senator to answer my questions within an hour. (no sarcasm here. I'm being serious)
  5. I was waiting to see who was going to chime in on that..haha BTW, what is the title of the song used in the video? I think it'll work in a short I'm cutting together.
  6. So the girl in the white shirt wouldn't let you put your mic down her shirt huh? lol Thanks for the video. It's nice being able to watch/hear something done the way everyone is suggesting.
  7. I would've taken the gig had I seen it earlier. Steven, I'm at the same point in my sound career and sometimes need someone to send gigs to when I'm booked. We should grab a beer sometime.
  8. Maybe I can hook this up to the DP's rig then. I'm trying to see if I can streamline the process for the producers so they can save the editor time syncing audio and converting the video to Prores 422. In other words, I can offer a service that would save them more money in the long run despite my increase in rate for offering such service.
  9. Maybe they'll start making "smart TV's". No matter what it is I'm sure I'll buy it.
  10. How about reversing the flow of info and having the camera feed sent to me and recording both audio/video to one of these? http://www.sounddevices.com/products/pix.htm
  11. Everyone, thanks for the input. I really appreciate it! I wish I had more info about the project, especially since the shoot is on Monday. I've asked the Producer and a rep from a company called livestream.com but no one knows what to tell me. Yes, I know this is scary and that I'm dealing with an amateur Producer. However, I've asked for a decent rate and will have a boom op and utility helping me out. Worst case someone here might get a call if they dont like my price. Haha I'm just going to bring my full arsenal, as well as some of the items you guys mentioned, and hope for the best. I really hate working under these conditions but if they agree to my rate then I'll deal with it.
  12. So, you guys think I should invest in some more G3's instead of a MixPre or MM1?
  13. So far I've been having post sync the audio. Now they are wanting to feed direct to camera since most of the footage needs to be out later that night or the next day. That have a very quick turn around time so any time saving shortcuts are welcome.
  14. I was thinking of getting a SD mix-pre to feed audio to the cameras straight from my SD 552. Before I spent the money I wanted to know if this is a good option or if you guys recommend another setup. Any info would help. Thanks, Mike
  15. So, I'm being asked if I'm able to do this. Get a line of audio from a computer the host will potentially skype from while allowing the host to also here the call Make sure he can load in the music and take calls from us on when to play and when to fade. I'm just repeating what I'm being told by the Producer, who is still trying to figure things out herself.
  16. This is going to be live to air. I've never done this on my own before so I'm hoping its not something I cant handle. The show is going to be somewhat of a QVC type format so I'm thinking it might not be too bad. Im hoping to get more info in the next couple of days so I can share the details with you guys. Again, any and all info is appreciated.
  17. I've been asked to do a live shoot that will be airing on facebook later this month. It's going to be a 3-4 camera shoot on DSLR's and most likely there will be no more then 4-5 people on camera at one time. This is what I'm being told for now anyways. I figured I'd ask you guys what you think is the best way, equipment wise, to do this. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
  18. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what you said. Your last point makes me whistle while driving my car to work.
  19. I get so many crappy emails from the "international monetary fund" that it isn't even funny. That certificate looks so bogus. The font used for "anti-terrorist fund clearance certificate" is a dead give away.
  20. Maybe next time you can take a photo of the priest so we can all chime in on how we would mic him up. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
