  1. At 560mhz, a 2 wavelength yagi would be around 45 inches and deliver 14 db of gain. Of course as Larry said the trade off is bandwidth. Optimally use more antennas and dump the power divider. Without the power divider the need for a LNA at the antenna is debatable. Now the trade off is how much gear do you want to pack and set up.
  2. I didn't watch all the video but a typical yagi pattern has side and back lobes and will look more like this than the linear graphics in the video.
  3. Reminded me of a night I once had in Juarez.....One of those stories that needs to stay south of the border.
  4. Judging from the mixers hands input gain and equalization is an issue.
  5. I had wondered why the mainstream computer manufactures have not been embracing Thunderbolt. Apparently they were off developing a competing standard. IMHO given the current pricing for Thunderbolt and Apples limited market its going to tough to keep alive.
  6. With very few people having bought into Thunderbolt this may well be the demise. Superspeed USB 3 "USB 3.0 will be encroaching on Thunderbolt's territory with support for external devices that require high-speed data rates like SSDs and secondary monitors." http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/01/07/superspeed-usb-30-to-rival-thunderbolt-speeds-in-2014
  7. Read the spec sheets on your sharkfins. Only 4dbd gain? Wouldn't yagis be a much better and cheaper solution?
  8. Pretty sure the CIA has lots of interesting sensor technology already in orbit...
  9. Must be for the copy cat Vancouver in Canada, not the original Vancouver in Washington
  10. Mike Auldridge and John Duffey were magic. RIP
  11. Is this a validation from you of "Peace Through Superior Firepower"?
  12. Interesting, had just been thinking about getting one of the Rycote Baby Ball Gags.
  13. I learned this from Dianne Feinstein this morning.
  14. Apparently my little 22 plinker rifle poses a grave threat to society.
  15. Feinstein's proposed legislation. http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons
  16. Voting for the lesser of two evils seems to be the norm these days.
  17. Without the second amendment California and Texas might still be part of Mexico. The south could be part of France. Native Americans could still control most of the country. What about the future? Going to guarantee the idiots we elect to Washington will not do something to plunge the country into chaos?
  18. Along with poverty, ghettos, gang culture, and Christmas stress.
  19. How do you to begin to make an assumption of where America might be now without the second amendment?
  20. There might be a few states that require it. I am too lazy to research it though.
  21. We have federal law which is pretty basic on controlling purchases. State and local laws are over the place so it varies. Some types of ammunition are restricted but it is generally over the counter. The usual storage place for guns where I live is in the back window of your truck. Weapons that are concealed come into dubious legal situations, If you display them openly you are perfectly legal here. Again local laws can vary quite a lot so what may be fine here could be legal or illegal somewhere else.
