alexbooy Posted December 4, 2019 Report Posted December 4, 2019 Dear soundmen, If I use a receiver connected to my recorder using the aes3 connection, will the accuracy of the receiver clock become the accuracy of my recorder timecode stability? Wisycom mcr42 has an accuracy of 2,5 ppm. What will that mean for my Sonosax Sxr4 ( the old one) getting external clock through aes? Lectro src has the possibily for external clock, a Wisycom mcr42 has not. Thanks for helping me. Best, Alex Quote
RadoStefanov Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 The sonosax sxr4 have ASRC. Nothing to worry about. Quote
Constantin Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 AES sync and timecode are mostly unrelated. Your TC won’t be affected by an unstable digital clock Quote
TVPostSound Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 Adding to Constantin correct statement: Speed/velocity and stability is established via clock. (AES/Video) Time code is positional reference only. Quote
