PCMsoundie Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Quote A non-lethal device developed by the US Navy aims to surreptitiously render a person unable to speak. The device, called a handheld acoustic hailing and disruption (AHAD) system, records a target’s speech with a long-range microphone and plays it back to them with a tiny delay. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2287973-sneaky-us-navy-feedback-device-could-stop-people-being-able-to-speak/ patent filed in 2019 a better photo is here. I knew when I used a Nagra IV and had it monitoring off the playback head if I tried to slate a scene or a head of a new roll I couldn't concentrate. A real non-leathal weapon.
Paul F Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Anybody that has tried to speak through a stadium PA system already knows about this.
Allen Rowand Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Been thinking about something like this for when the neighbor's kids are shrieking in the back yard for the third straight hour...
