Jeff Wexler
I went to the Cast & Crew screening of Cameron Crowe's "We Bought A Zoo" at Fox last night. Wonderful movie, so emotional and involving, so much a Cameron movie. It is truly a love story, not in the conventional one person falls in love with another, but a love of life and all it brings, tragedy and joy, and how we deal with it. The cast was amazing, everything worked, and as always in a Cameron movie, ever present music telling the whole story right in step with the dialog. It is a very gutsy movie to make in these times, requiring an audience that is willing to be patient, pay attention to the movie and themselves, allow the movie to touch your intellect and your heart with the magic that this great movie has. Our production sound work was beautifully mixed by Doug Hemphil who has done 4 other movies with Cameron (Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire and Say Anything). Doug is the master of good taste, restraint and good judgement --- everything sounds just as it should, amazing mix, never calling attention to itself, always true to the movie. Thank you, Doug. As always, stellar collaboration with Don Coufal (our 63rd movie together) and amazing work by Jeff Humphreys (my 4th movie working with Jeff). Lisa Piñero
Looking forward to seeing this one Jeff! Almost Famous is one of my favorites and still gets regular screenings at my house.
Jan McL
The trailer sounds awesome (of course!)! Yeah, those are double exclamation marks. I could use a romantic comedy about now. Rebuilding the cart is no longer a lonely business, I get to refresh my palate here, LOL. That trailer was the perfect lemon ice for my morning. -- Jan
