  1. yes i tried. they working great, and you can set two different gain on two chs so one always can be a backup for the other. in my bag there are one QIFB,one QRX,one Maxx and one Super cmit, i put the unit record at six tracks and with built in TX on, everything runs about three hours on a NP-1 batt. Not really power saving but can be accepted.
  2. that's the thing I'm chasing for. My QIFB in earlier version does not hold its tc as well after power off. From QIFB v1.51 it does now. And nowhere it's been mentioned that the QIFB has internal batt. I know a number of ppl use stereo link (both trx/sta and 900CL) in their small bag setup as a main recorder. It would be so nice I can jam it in the morning and put the GR2 in my bag pack or elsewhere. Any un-needed weight reduced on the shoulder would be much appreciated. And if 900CL was intended designed NOT to hold its TC after power off. Plz list it on website. And plz tell the other users when writing a review. It's such important function. And that's also the reason why I call its ODD decision from Zaxcom. No idea why they did this.
  3. wow,i just went to have breakfast....... seems like Glenn deleted his response to my "900CL did not hold tc".as we discussed that here a bit,i put my response here. on zaxcom website for 900CL, http://www.zaxcom.com/cameralink there is nowhere mentioned that this device does not hold its tc, it even mentioned it has tc reader/generator specs just like all the other zaxcom products. Timecode Reader / Generator Clock Accuracy: 1.54 PPM (1 Frame Out in 6 Hours) Timecode Type: SMPTE Timecode Frame-Rates: 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97NDF, 29.97DF, 30NDF, 30DF and for who was beta testing, i did not see anywhere mentioned 900CL does not hold its tc in that (something new from zaxcom)thread either. It's a big miss-lead for users. At least it mis-leading me. Plus the ifb on 900CL does not change TRX's gain yet.( i was expecting it does that function since its IFB and its from zaxcom). Is the IFB200 does the remote gain thing ??( is that could be another big miss-lead?) if the 900CL will only be a TC reader, plz list it on your website so ppl won't mis-understand it anymore.
  4. Current software v1.25, 900CL does NOT support gain control on TX yet. Another BIG ODD decision from Zaxcom plus 900CL can't even hold its tc after power off. I really wish they can FINISH one product then go into develop another rather than having such a long line of products that needs improving. Poor Howy. Only use IFB100 through deva&mix8, that's the fastest way.
  5. I feel changing the gain over QIFB is faster than making the changes on Nomad. As I mentioned before, Maxx can't load QIFB into Rec yet so have to get into Extended IFB menu to load unit rec or stop then back to the main menu make gain changes. (If you don't want to roll TRX all the time )
  6. I heard the same too from Charlie for displaying that zaxnet thing couple weeks ago. But to be honestly , expecting CA clapping the board then stop for two or more seconds just for showing the scene and take number on tc slate(which are already written down on the slate) ? i doubt they have the patient. but i'm definitely looking forward to seeing that timecode buddy built in RX in the denecke slate for a consistent tc wireless jamming. that would be wonderful.

  8. hello Vin: nice finding ! i just hang off the phone with a guy from this chinese Li batt manufacturer. He told me unfortunately their batt are NOT allowed to be sold in US because Energizer is made in USA and protected by US government so they can't sell the batt in the US market. But they do can sell them in the Europe( they just won the lawsuit against Energizer in the Europe) if anyone is a dealer in the Euro and happen to see this message and interested in this batt, maybe we can try to work out something.
  9. On deva, push the REC button will load IFB100 into REC as well. That's just a tc cable connection. That's the tc signal thing I'm talking about. I want this feature on Maxx and Nomad as well. It's not hard but it's been so long not done.
  10. I just made a suggestion to the TCB team and MovieSlate team, i hope in the next version of both their software that when i push the REC button in the MovieSlate Sound Dept page, it will send out a REC signal to the TCB Wifi Master, then Wifi Master start to OUTPUT tc signal through it TC output connector, when i push the STOP in my MovieSlate, the Wifi Master will be STOP sending the TC signal. It's not hard to done this only if as long as they want to ( of course if many us want to) this wise we can use any recorder that has TC input with MovieSlate and TCB wifi master to setup an Auto-Load function,e.g.after STOP the recording on our phones we can directly enter metadata into it instead of pushing the Maxx's STOP button, then pushing QIFB's STOP button then pushing the STOP button on smartphone. If they could done this,i'm very happy to put the wifi master in any of my bags/carts. (current Maxx's software does NOT have zax signal YET,so after you let Maxx/Nomad to record, you will still need to push the REC button on the QIFB's menu too) ps:Zaxcom had such a great chance to achieve an IOS/Android app market as they are one of the first group combining the Wifi into sound gear, how many things can be easily/faster done by an App these days. But they don't want to. A BIG SIGH !!!
  11. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.67.EoQIbj&id=14252637319&initiative_new=1 Of course there is competitor to Energizer. i've been using this one for long time, according to the currency today : 0.653 USD per cell. Slightly less time compare to the Energizer but you can't beat this price.
  12. i'm using the digital mic on AES1&2 now, i think in the menu there are two separate options for both AES12 and AES34 's AES42 power on/off. the digital break out cable i made is Cable 1 (ch1&2) on digital mic, Cable 2(ch3&4) on one QRX100, Cable 3 for the DIGITAL LINK IN, so the Maxx can link to any other mixer/recorder that has digital output. And Cable 4 for a digital output that i may want to use with 900CL which takes digital input,( ONLY IF i want to do a 6 ISO tracks in Maxx, then two output mix track can be recorded on the 900CL(So the mp3 transcription can be done at the same time backup the mirror folder at the end of day). It's a bit over killed by putting two TX in the bag,so i imagine the IFB200 will be the best pal for Maxx in the future.
  13. I only use ERX when i know it's IN RANGE. Otherwise lockit. I agree the rest of your opinion.

    MAXX Bag?

i'm currently using the portabrace AO1.0, which can give you more room in the bag, you can put a mix Pre-D or 302 or M32 type recorder give you more inputs/mixing option as well.
  15. my sonosax M32 output a nice signal that i can get -20 dB on my CL. But i did feel that even the tone level are the same on the CL and STA/TRX, the CL's general sound recording level is slightly lower. i have to say i miss that LED light on top of the TRX which can tell me the unit is in recording or not. On CL it's too hard to read that 900LA type screen when operating in a bag. And since zaxcom didn't put an internal batt in the CL,it does NOT hold the TC after power off which is very very very odd decision. anyway you have to use a external lockit or zax-IFB feed its TC all the time if you use timecode. and one more thing, as an zax IFB unit, the CL does not have the ability to remote control GAIN on any zax-TX units yet ( so far v1.25) the IFB on CL is good, better range than the one in the QIFB,higher mW output. gets heat like other zax TX.RX.
  16. got my LANC and Maxx today too. Truely fantastic.
  17. i do the same all the time to 1st time work together client. or i just tell them i will hold one or two key sound files until i get fully paid for long project. That works very well.
  18. cinela do have a wider mount for mounting the plug-on receiver, http://www.cinela.fr/catalog.php?pid=68&language=en the 742 can fits in,but not very handy because the only direction you can do you will find out that either the batt door or screen surface will face to the boom pole side, and the on/off in 742 is located in the batt area, so either not easy to turn on/off the unit or not easy to reach the screen change the menu...... i hope cinela will have a even wider bracket to solute this. interesting you mentioned the cinela wiring, yes the ccm8 i'm using is mounted on the cinela cmc/ccm mount,i'll have it directly plug to a mixer to see if that's a cable wiring issue. All my other Schoeps, cmit5U,three cmc641 never got RF issue from my zaxcom wireless. Receiving my AES42 cone this week and will test the cmit 2U. The Neumann 82i i have do have RF issue with 942 and TRX(with filter antenna too). i always wondering who those persons are that say Schoeps get humidity issue, have they ever used one in their life for once and actually got humidity issue by themselves OR they just heard from someone saying that and then believed ?? i use Scheops for five years now,and many times in the heavy rain, beach side all the time, cmc641 and 5U never got a bit problem with that. the 8050 i have do picked up random RF from the city time to time, and that sound....nowhere to Schopes.Since the first time i listened to a Schoeps i sold my 416 and 418s.
  19. i just got myself a 4.2S recently, superb pre-amp,love that sound a lot. The folks at Coffey sound made me some Tuchel output cable for nagra. The signal is sent to my zaxcom TRX742 or STA/TRX900 for a wireless stereo recording. And i love it.
  20. A built in IFB RX in Maxx would make it more brilliant. How much space that would take inside ?
  21. Turn off the RF,use erx to ROUGHLY monitor the sound of it when I do MS with ccm8. Its the only mic so far i found having RF issue with 742. Treat it like a two track recorder, that's my current solution. Not sure why you mentioned the cinela mount.
