  1. I wasn't wanting people to criticise me, it was just expected. What I am referring to is zero gain on the trim of the Nomad. In my opinion, zero is a much better place to be, than say 25 db gain on the trim, followed by a 20 something db reduction on the fader. Especially if the original 25 db gain on the trim was because the output of the transmitter was 25 db too low. Did I say something there that doesn't work for some reason?
  2. I really can't to see how this one ends. We all must not be thinking about some obvious thing. Right? When I think about a problem, I try to figure out how one could make this happen on purpose. So, everyone, how could we make this event happen on purpose?
  3. Sounds like a great solution for those with back problems. My pack weight sits on my hips though, just like a mother holds a baby on her hips. My shoulder straps just keep the bag from moving around. They probably only support, at most, 10-15 percent of the weight.
  4. RP, I think I can agree with all but the part about crashing and burning without help. I think the crash and burn rate is about the same regardless of the amount of help people give someone who's destiny is going to be to crash and burn. Martin
  5. He/She probably made the assumption there were nice people on this forum.
  6. Hey guys, the person that asked the original question, the "op"?, I think that must stand for original poster, never said he or she was a sound mixer. They could have just been a PA who was being AC for the day. I have helped kids make cute little shorts, and I've given someone the one minute version of how to operate a slate. I'm sure they had no idea why they were even clapping the Slate. So, if the guy just wants to be an AC, I don't even know if he/she should care what a microphone pattern does. Martin
  7. Mike, I understand catalytic converters and I don't like using them.
  8. Hello all, I spent many years as a photographer prior to sound. I remember I used to get bothered, to myself, no one else, about the people that didn't hire me. Then one day I realized that I didn't care about the clients that didn't hire me based on cost, because they were not hiring me. In other words, why care what someone thought who was not hiring me. One day I told the lady that I worked for, lets raise the rates 10 percent. She was panicky and said what if we get less work. I explained that even if business dropped off by 10 percent, we still made more money, because we would get the same revenue, but spend less time on film, gas, wear and tear, etc. So we did it, and business didn't drop off any. So, I really don't care what people who AREN'T hiring me think.
