  1. I'm very much hoping that with scorpio you can use multiple of these.
  2. Finally we get AES for Sound Devices 8-Series!! They do listen! They do listen! https://www.facebook.com/groups/sounddevices/permalink/10157645626329906/
  3. In my life I've owned 5 of these things. Hands down my favourite recorder of all time. It may not be most useful recorder now days, but it me it excels in the following areas: - Sounds incredible (I don't know why but to me this sounds better than the 744T and 788T) - AES I/O - Compatible with the CL-1 for Logic - Did I mention it sounds incredible Obviously it can do the standard Timecode, Wordclock, Line inputs, M/S Decoding, A lot of routing capabilities, 192khz/24bit, etc To me it's compact and perfect. There's no over complication, it is exactly what it needs to be. Very much in the same vein as a Nagra Seven.
  4. Hey Everyone, I'll be on a shoot soon with a Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. Previously I'd been using a QRX100 (feeding the 3-pin mini xlr), however production will have two mixers on the coming shoot with only 1 QRX100, so I may have to use another option. Hence I was wondering if I could send both audio and timecode from a Zaxcom ERX into the Black Magic's 3.5mm input jack. In the manual it says that the Camera will accept timecode into the left channel of the 3.5mm, does that mean that I can use channel 2 audio on the 3.5mm? Cheers!
  5. Personally I wouldn't look past Ambient. I own a Master Lockit and several Nano's. Absolutely excellent! Along with rock-solid performance and a great timecode network (compatibility with Slates and several recorders); their meta-data developments are awesome (communication with several Camera Lens and Report Generators). Btw I used Denecke, Ambient, Tentacle, Zaxcom and Betso - and the best performer (in terms of playing nice with Camera's) is Ambient by far!
  6. Hey guys, I use Lectrosonics SNA600 Dipole antenna's for my run and gun kit. I have 2 Lectrosonics ZSC-24 2-Way Passive Splitters at the bottom of my bag feeding 2 Zaxcom QRX100Q receivers. The SNA600 antenna's are mounted using a 3D printed clip designed for my bag. The velcro just gives more support from getting knocked (had too many camera operators knocking it out.) This setup has improved my range over whips by about 50%. And if I need more range I just put the mount onto a c-stand.
  7. Hey guys and girls, So recently I was on set with another recordist who had a setup of 5 x Lectrosonics SRb's being feed by a PSC RF Multi which was connected by a pair of long coax cables. The coax cables weren't connected to any antenna's, the recordist briefly explained that the coax itself was the antenna in this situation. Does anyone else use a pair of coax cables as antennas? And if so could explain the positives and negatives of your setup. Thanks !
  8. Hi Moe, Glad to hear someone hear is using it. Was the main thing driving your use of the Nagra Seven in regards to the sound of the preamps. For example does a recorder like the 702T not suffice (to you) in that regards?
  9. I was just wondering if anyone was incorporating a Nagra Seven into their cart. On the Nagra website I saw this picture Nagra Seven On Cart , and I guess I was just curious why this recorder would be specifically used on a cart. I also was curious if anyone uses it in their bag in the field?
  10. All in a bag. 1 QRX being fed a mix (for IFB), and 1 QRX stand alone.
  11. Hi, Yep I was feeding 1 QRX a mix for 2.4ghz ifb. (This was done everyday prior).
  12. I always set sync to internal, but thats good to know that the recorder can just change randomly. I'll make sure to double check every time i turn it on now.
  13. Hi mate, Its bizarre just cause I have never had this issue at 48k before, and it was only on this day. I never play with sample rates as well. I was also under the impression that the 788t had sample rate conversion per track.
  14. I was feeding my channels 3-6 with AES out of zaxcom QRX's. But channel 1 was analog. Just to clarify the picture shows mix, boom (analog), zaxcom lav (aes). Is there any reason it would bleed over to other channels?
