  1. Hey Thanks CrewC! Means a lot coming from you with your experienced ears. I wrote the tune, sang, played guitar, and worked with my good friend and producer Mckay who played drums and everything else. http://www.mckaygarner.com I initially did the vocals at home, then we decided it wasn't the right performance so we went to his place which is a well treated mixing room with a tube mic. Drums and guitar recorded at Jingle town in Oakland. We go into mastering in a week for the record. Took a lot of time off to record most of this at home. My bank account and wife needs me to go back to work though : ) Hoping to find some placements for some of these tunes. Been a lot of fun.
  2. as well as Bela Fleck is on the hip name https://youtu.be/qRK7-SIAbtQ I don't think any of you guys are going to steal my tune so here it is. I know your all so curious.
  3. Well why on earth did they name a tv show when there is already a song, an album and a band!!! I don't get it!? Dumb people! Thank you for the valuable info. 😜
  4. Hey all I've written a song called Big Country and I found this tv show called Big Country! see where I'm going? I see it is produced by Crazy Legs Productions. http://crazylegsproductions.com Dose the sound mixer happen to be on JWsound? Thanks!
  5. Thanks thats what I needed. Didn't see that in any documentation.

  7. Hi Folks Just Got a Tig Ql this morning from Location sound corp. I would call manufacturer but it's Saturday morning as i write this. Same cables, i can jam the tig from my slate but not from the 664. Tired all settings on tig. I can also jam slate from 664. I can jam 664 from Tig.
  8. THanks for input. I sent them the image and they are sticking with the table mics.
  9. I usually use a bunch of PZM's split in-between students but client is requesting using Hanging mics. I've never used these before. I feel like it would be a mess rigging them and would not get the proximity of table mics. Any advice would be appreciated. Just found this useful http://shure.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/174/~/how-do-i-mic-a-classroom-for-distance-learning%3F

    sanken csr-2

The test was supposed to be between a few different sanken mics. Compete? Was thinking more like another tool. Maybe compete with mkh50?

    sanken csr-2

Would someone chime in on the Location sound corp demo? Couldn't make it today. Thanks!
  13. I use the e6 cardioid 4-8 times a month for live stream events with reinforcement, and omini for myself Single ear is a pita even with experience. Maybe it's me. Tape helps as afewmore said, if you can use it. Cardioid is much better than omni even when the mic is so close(obviously) but it has to bet rock solid location wise. I used a double ear Dpa once and sounded much better to me, was a breeze to put on and didn't have any problems but $$… I paid 125 for an e6 like new from ebay after watching for a few weeks.
  14. 6/10 But just ask me what media is approved by SD!

  17. not only that but it depends what mood your in! http://tapeop.com/blog/2014/03/24/subconscious-auditory-effects/
  18. hmm…lots of sites to chose from. I tried thumbtack, get occasional, reel directory, few Mandy and production hub jobs, we all know craigslist stories… I do like sound mixer with gear. Wondering why it doesn't say studio space with licorice. thoughts? oh and bonus points about SAE. cool article in tape op. http://tapeop.com/blog/2014/03/24/subconscious-auditory-effects/
  19. I've done a bit of court room work for 48hours mystery, weeks actually, in a small closet…ugh if not for my humorous camera companion. +1 what Edward says. Hard wired goose neck + auto mixer. mics everywhere they might speak. At the podium, projector? To jurors? can you lav em for opening closing if they are walking around? who is reading the verdict? Also start making friends very early, "speak judge" (lwp). They have all the say and it's a total decision on their part and depends if they like you more than anything else(IMHO). Bring a big helping of respect and walk lightly. The staff are fairly protective of there rooms and rightfully so.
  20. just a thought why don't SD and Zax have an email list for updates? I didn't know the 664 had an updated and had an issue at a job that wouldn't had happened if I'd known of the update sooner. This particular situation sounds like serious design issue. My band has an email list, obama has an email list, why can't our favorite gear companies send out update news letters?!
  21. Transition was bound to happen. Like when I went from using big box pa speakers to Bose L1's back to QSC : ) It's great how easy the DL1608 is to use compared to a big Yamaha. Compression and EQ all around makes multiple feeds much easier (this gig requires a House, Streaming/Camera, and telephone feed). And i'm looking forward to riding my bike to a gig for once with this mixer in a back pack. What is the mixer your using Alan?
  22. First gig with the dl1608 Used it for dsp only. Still a little nervousness about using ipad faders but going to ditch the vlz on next gig.

    CZM microphone

1200 isn't that much considering a Pzm is 400. I'm thinking of putting a few lavs in between two frizz-bees and seeing how that sounds.
