Hmmm, list price seems rather expensive for the current market.  Are SD and Zaxcom THAT expensive in Sweden that this would be competitive?

And some weird connectors, like SVHS for S/PDIF out?   That's truly odd.

And 4 "C" batteries.

And all connectors out the bottom.

I'm feeling like I am not part of their target market...

Cheers,

Brent Calkin

The MM-4240 is "almost" released, the documents in the link are for a pre-release, and the final release will be in April 2014.

The new documents will be posted on www.marenius.se soon.

Regarding Freeheels comment:

The mixer comes with a miniDIN-4 to 2xBNC breakout cable.

There are acyually six C (R14) batteries, the chemistry is up to the user.

The custom made Porta Brace carrying case solves the cable connectors on the back quite efficient.

The Mixer is developed together with Eric Spitzer-Marlyn.

some immediate reactions:

DC 6-15V - should be up to 18V to accomodate Li-Ion packs

DC input should be locking connector

'C' size battery - each weighs 70 grams, so 6 x7 = 420 grams. quite a lot to add to a mixer that is 1300 grams.

SD card holder has no lid - card can pop out

mini-DIN for digital outputs (2) - strange

"Headphone volume / Power switch (outer potentiometer)

Controls the volume for the headphone jack, at full CCW the unit is shut down.
To POWER ON the device turn the knob CW."

This is did not get...

In other words, a fair bit to worry about.

Yes (or they are in the UK), this is maybe a bit more expensive than a Roland R-88

The MM-4240 accepts NP-1 batteries, we do supply a NP-1 connector cable with a locking connector.

The production version of the MM-4240 is equipped with a locking DC connector.

The power ON/OFF function is integrated in the headphone potentiometer and has a distinct mechanical click which makes it hard to accidently turn of the mixer. The solution also protects your ears in some manner.
