old school
I'm surprised I'm the first to mention the split of Apple's stock. I know I'm not the only stockholder. Big fan of splits. CrewC

Ze Frias
Though the split may not mean anything quantifiable now - you still own the same percentage and value that you did before the split -, psychologically, it may mean something soon as it does do something for potential buyers: Apple stock is now at available at much lower price, which means they are more likely to invest than they would when each stock was worth nearly $700. Hopefully the split does yield a good ROI for you folks who own Apple stock!
old school
I've been fortunate and owned a few stocks that have split besides Apple. They have all gone back to their pre split value after a period of time. It is a great way to make $$$ for doing nothing other than holding a good stock. I know many who think Apple's best days are behind it. I would disagree. CrewC
Sean McCormick
My advisor called earlier today and cajoled me into plunking a few bucks in. Wish it was 30 years ago...
Philip Perkins
Best days, Apple: re products I think are cool and useful: behind it. Best days, Apple: re profitability: a good bet. I hope the stock pays off for you homies big time and finances your retirement nicely, when it arrives. philp

Don't wish too hard, a lot of my friends lost a good deal of money on Apple stock back in the pre iPhone pre return-of-Steve days. philp
Marc Wielage
I'm convinced that Apple stock is going to go way up in the next 90 days because of the forthcoming iPhone 6. After that, I dunno, but through August, I think it'll be huge.
johnpaul215
Buying some Apple stock and watching it shoot up is what allowed me to pay cash for my Deva Fusion.
Marc Wielage
Courtney would remind us that Apple stock has fallen before... I'm not that confident in Apple for the long term.
old school
GM was the gold standard at one point in time, then it was gone. Now it's back but those who held it before the reissue took a bath. Stocks are a gamble for sure. I'm holding for now. CrewC

studiomprd
this just in: " Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., reported on Tuesday a profit of $7.7 billion, up from $6.9 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. The company also reported revenue of $37.4 billion, up from $35.3 billion compared to the quarter a year ago. Strong sales of iPhones and Macs fueled the growth, the company said. Daniel McIntosh
I'm a bit indifferent on the split- there is analysis that a split and the subsequent additional cash infusion may dilute value. My smile came when the dividends finally came through. I vote to increase the dividends- release the excess cash. That is what will stimulate the economy.
