Doug Osborn Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Just curious if anybody here has had hands on time with the new Cinela Pianissimo. What's your take on it? Thinking of getting one for my MKH-50 and an additional mount for my cmc641. Quote
RadoStefanov Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Checked it out at NAB. it is a smaller piano. Same design and craftsmanship. Quote
Simon Hayter Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 I got a pianissimo last week, using it with a DPA 4071. Very light rig, no handling noise. Altogether very pleased. Oops, 4017 Quote
pindrop Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Very nice but is the bottom half of that basket still non-removable? I haven't bought one because what I've seen did not strip down to suspension only, I'd need it to do this fast, as I'd often find it too bulky otherwise. My current setup with Rycote is fairly clumsy but the basket is completely removable. The new Rycote Cyclone with magnetic fixing seems very promising for speedy stripdowns. Quote
Simon Hayter Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 I keep all my microphones in their own mounts to avoid swapping. And, yes, the bottom half of the basket is still not removable. Quote
Derek H Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 How does the pianissimo compare to the Zephyx? Quote
soundtrane Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 they are for different kinds of mics... Quote
