  1. Believe me, John. I pushed for an Alexa. We ended up ordering the new red fans. I worked with a scarlet that had the new fans and it was a big improvement. We'll see how they work for the epic. We shoot in 5k a lot and the fans have been a huge pain.
  2. Just curious to know if anyone on the forum has experience with the Red Epic 2.0 fans. Are they a big improvement over the original fans? How to the compare to the Mecasax fan plate? A production I'm on has green lit a fan upgrade. Just curious which option I should recommend.
  3. I suggested this to Glenn and Howy at NAB. I think it's a good idea.
  4. The new office is great! Also very happy to never have to use those awful elevators again.
  5. Was great meeting you at NAB, Phillipe! I'm excited about the new windshield. Looks great.
  6. Bingo! As long as you have the newest firmware, you can get TC and audio low enough.
  7. I've done it. There's a little bleed, but not awful.

  9. MTO makes a product called the SlateSlicker. Call any of the usual suspects. I doubt anyone has them in stock, but they could order it.
  10. Pro-Sound stocks their bags and cables. They can order you whatever else you need.
  11. Should work. I looped a QRX through an Octopack before and it was fine.
  12. I use the RF multi with Blue Fins. Works great.
  13. It definitely seemed quieter when I was really pushing the gain on the transmitter. I know it shouldn't make that big of a difference, but it was noticeable. Go figure. I might try a side by side comparison tomorrow if I've got the time on set.
  14. Switched to running the QRX's via AES today and that made a big difference. Still odd that it's that night and day. May be my TA5F to XLR cable was acting up.
  15. Thread revival. Did you ever sort out the issue with your DPA / Zaxcom combo? I definitely notice some hiss on mine when used with a low talker and a TRX900LANC. More so than with a Sanken or B6.
  16. I prefer my Schoeps and CS3e, but I'll never get rid of my 416. It still has a well deserved seat at the table.
  17. Thanks for the update, Ryan. I'm gettin another Zax tx next week and would love to get a DPA to go with it!
  18. I had the DPA problem with Block 20 TRX900LANC's. I have two slightly older DPA lav's that work fabulously. Would love to pick up a few more when they sort this out. Jason
