  1. +1 I'm often told 24, only to be told by the DP or AC that it's 23.976
  2. Would love to come but working that day. If we wrap early, I'll try to get over there.
  3. I'm planning on using the ERX I just got to feed an old TS-1 I have lying around.
  4. I just purchased a booster from l-com.com (lower case L). Good quality and price is good. Mentioned in the other thread as well.
  5. I've been using the CS-2 and getting some really good results.
  6. I found out I found out that it was consistent just today and was fixed easily, so I really went against my better judgement and what I should know is the right thing to do and made a really stupid rookie mistake but live and learn.
  7. That's what I thought. I 2nd guessed myself into that one. I wasn't told if it was consistent or drifted.
  8. I just did a shoot with the Alexa running at 23.976 and during the first part of the shoot, I ran the Nomad at 23.98. The editor claimed everything was off by 11 frames so I switched to 24fps on the Nomad. Was this a mistake on my part at first to run at 23.98? I haven't heard yet about how sync was at 24fps. Both machines were jammed externally and running on their own clocks.
  9. Here is my current rig, minus my camera hop.
  10. I can only see version 3.06 on the Zax site. Where is 3.07 everyone is talking about. I've got 3.06 on my machine now.
  11. This may be a stupid question but I'm picking up my Nomad 8 today and was wondering if "Automix" and the USB Drive functions were now active
  12. Have to give a plug for the Euphonix as well. I use 3 artist mix's, 1 control and 1 transport in the studio and the Pro Tools controll I have is great. I run some pretty large track counts and have never had a problem getting around with these units. For monitor control, I use the Blue Sky 5.1 system and a One Knob for alternate pair of monitors. Never touch the monitor section on the control.
  13. I think this cart is great. I was thinking about modifying an old anvil road case I have but I think it may be too big and heavy to really get around comfortably.
  14. I do agree with some of the other posts here in that it is hard to find the time to do both. I have had to turn down production work and vice versa because I have been in the middle of certain projects.
  15. I do both as well. I started in post and moved into doing production work as well as a way to try and get the word out more about my post business. I found that I loved doing production work as much as doing post. As far as that model working, it has been relatively successful. I have found that I can suggest to clients that I'm doing production work for that I do post and have a fully functional studio. They are usually at least intrigued and I have gotten a bunch of post jobs doing that. It is expensive to have good gear to do both, but it's worth the investment to me to have the gear to do the jobs right.
