Hi, I've been running with Sennheiser G3's so far, and I'm thinking of upgrade possibilities. I've formerly used rented Lectros, which are always nice (except that one time they were popping all the time, this apparently had something to do with incompatible DPA lavs), and also have a Nomad so if I had a lot of money, Lectro or Zax would obviously be a sensible choice (then again I hear about people in Finland having trouble with Zax wireless, I wonder if that's already sorted out). However, two Audio Ltd Tx's and their dual channel diversity receiver would cost me around 2000€ less than a pair of Zax or Lectro channels so I'm trying to gauge whether to try and save up or go with the Audio Ltd's. I came across a pair of En2 tx's and non-diversity rx's once. I actually had quite a lot of dropouts while in a supermarket, though I think it might've just been the environment, and I suppose if I were to get their dual channel receiver with diversity the situation would be better anyways. Or have people experienced range issues with these? How do you perceive the sound quality on the En2 system? On the G3's I notice some noise in quieter environments, is the noise floor on En2's significantly lower? I Can't really tell from my earlier brush with the En2's since the gig was in louder environments. Also, the En2's have locking TRS connectors for the mics, are these with the same wiring as the G3 connectors? This would sort of be a bonus towards just getting a pair of Audio Ltd channels for now, since I have a pile of OST and Rode mics with Senn connectors. Thanks for any experience you might be able to share!

Hi does anyone know any RF headphones which can cut it for critical listening, or are they all too compressed to use? I was looking at the Sennheiser RS165, which are closed back. I wanted something for artists to use tracking vocals in a studio, so they need to be zero latency, but also to use for general mixing. Are there any RF or equivalent wireless headphones anyone knows of that are decent enough quality?

You guys seem to be my de facto sounding board... I am nearing completion of the first version of the FreqFinder app for iPhone and Android. It keeps track of all of your transmitter channels in use and then calculates the intermodulation products between them and tells you if any channels are being affected by intermodulation products. It is meant to be a replacement for the Lectrosonics intermod chart. It will also test all of a transmitter's options against the channels in use and provide a list of usable channels for when the need arrises to change frequencies. An add-on will provide a comparison against the fcc tv station database for users located in the US. First supported transmitters will be Lectrosonics and Comtek, but more will be added over time. The price will be $30 for the base app and $15 for the US TV add-on. Also, current front runner for the name is FreqFinder, but TXCentral is also an option.

Hey Guys, I'm new here and I've done a few searches looking for the info I need but haven't quite found an answer to my specific question. I'm shooting for 3 weeks in the Philippines on a doco - I'm setting up an audio rig with 2 radio mics (along with a boom). Nothing too strenuous, no water action, just interviews etc We'll be in Manilla but also Davao City. Only thing is I can't find any info on the restricted frequencies inside the Philippines. So I'm a bit confused as to which of the below options would work best for in country shooting.... So my three options for radio mics are: - Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G3-B - Sennheiser EW112-p G3 - Sennheiser EW122-p G3 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to upgrade to a pair of Zax radios and a receiver for bag work. I am mainly curious about the difference in range and power efficiency between the LA2/LT2. I'm wondering: 1) Is the LT2 available at 125 mW? perhaps via special order / mod? 2) How is range with 50mW using whip antennae on the QRX235? (I'm working from a bag) 3) Does the LT2 run twice as long as LA2 assuming same power setting etc? 4) Or like 2/3 of a day instead of half a day? 5) Is there any advantage to the QRX200 over the QRX235? (I remember Rado looking to swap his 235 for a 200 but don't remember why) No Zax dealer in my country so any advice/experience is much appreciated.

Hi guys, I'm a long time viewer of the site but haven't posted anything until now. Most of the time any questions I have can be answered by a scan through this site but I want to make sure i'm on the right track with this! I may be doing some work in Taiwan come November and i'm looking at frequencies over there. I have only previously worked in Europe. So far I have only found this - http://www.ncc.gov.tw/english/files/07060/92_070605_1.pdf Am I right in thinking I can use some frequencies of Channel 69 radio mics over there? All my equipment is currently CH38. It also seems I am limited to very low power transmitters- does anyone have any experience with this? Apologies if the question seems basic- i'm just doing my research in plenty of time and would like a few other opinions. Any other travel advice related to Taiwan would be greatly appreciated (i'm based in Manchester, UK). Lastly, thanks for the site Jeff- I don't know how long it would have taken me to learn what I have without this site! Kyle

Hi guys, this is my first post. I just got asked by a production that which walkies they should buy. I'm no expert on the subject, but in my opinion as long as they dont buy anything within my wireless freq range i should be fine. I was thinking suggesting the Motorola CP200 seeing as they dont really have much of a budget for these, and these seem like they would be the best for that price range. They come in VHF or UHF Models, which should i advise them to choose? Anyone have experience with these or other similarly priced models? Should i tell them to get the most expensive ones and buy once cry once??? Any input on this would be great.

Needed a mic transmitter belt for an actress. Bought some heavy elastan/polyester fabric, large velcro and started the sewing machine. Custom fit!

Here's a new slot 2 channel receiver from Audio Ltd. http://www.audioltd.com/new-en2-slot-in-receiver-debuts-at-bve-london/ I wish their Publicity Dept/Budget was a bit better as I stumbled upon this by accident! Looks promising. Will
