rmac Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 DPA announces a new digital wireless system at ISE in Barcelona, following its announcement of CORE+ at NAMM. From DPA’s website: https://www.dpamicrophones.com/wireless/n-series/ ‘video: Introducing the N-Series Digital Wireless System Quote
Derek H Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Hmm. 2 channels per rack unit. Hard to be excited about that with everything else available. Good for them though. Surely there will be other receivers down the road. Quote
Matthias Richter Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 exactly my initial thoughts. My RX12R could be home for 24ch in 1.5RU Quote

Perhaps they're trying to reach the broadcast, tv for now, I suspect that because the handheld and the size of the transmitter... On the other hand, a possible 4017 Digital is exciting to me... Axel. VASI Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 It's their first time, so I can pretty understand that there is no receiver like MCR54. Looks interesting in terms of specifications from the other hand. Quote
DanieldH Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Pretty sure, they are addressing anything "stage" that can afford their products and is affine to their mics (theater, churches, concerts, and also Broadcast Studio). Microdot host connectors (or rather likely the new MicroLock advancement) is remarkably clever from sales perspective, but its even more interesting that Zaxcom did that before without economic interest to limit their product to Microdot mics. IronFilm Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Hopefully this is just their first go at attempting to get low hanging fruit before taking on a more challenging project such as a Superslot receiver. Quote
Placeslost Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 These companies need to do a lot more work on density per rack unit. At this point anything less than 8/1ru just isn't going to get my money. Quote

More like, live music performances. Quote
Philip Perkins Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 I would want a lot better support for a new wireless system than I've gotten from DPA (re: wired mics) in the last while. No thanks. Quote
Derek H Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 Yeah I’ve also been turned off by their support which in my experience has sometimes been rude and not always very knowledgeable. Quote
OB1 Posted February 24 Report Posted February 24 Still having one foot in the live sector I can attest that this a more a push into regaining that market share. High budget productions, those that are very well funded, are opting for other offerings due to their availability, functionality, and serviceability. Cost generally falls fairly low on the totem poll. Again, speaking here of multimillion dollar productions - traveling, theater, etc. If this is what DPA has introduced to date, I can't wait what the next year has to offer and hopefully it bleeds into the tv/film sector... ramallo Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Stick to what you know, let the cobbler stick to his last I'm very worried with DPA Quote
