Yes. First line of my post: ''... and if I had to buy right now, I'd go with Ultrasync One or … '' Concerning the ''you might want to hold off'' part newzhack, I guess you signed up for their black friday soon-to-be announcement ?
-
I own Tentacles and Mozegear boxes and if I had to buy right now, I'd go with Ultrasync One or Betso boxes. What I miss now is capability to sync wirelessly multiple boxes (instead of ''re-doing'' the set box by box) and a display; for the market here, the FS7s have practically replaced the C300s which had a display at the back which allowed me to have a peek at the TC from time to time to be sure everything's all right.

A guy I worked with last two weeks had two of them break. I got 4063s in my kit and so far so good (but don't use 'em often) and I'll be watching things about their response as to waranty. That could be a deal breaker for me if they ever say ''too late, sorry'' as there seems to be so much of these mics breaking either at the head (capsule) or along the wire.
-
What I meant is for quick spot checks here and there during the day and back from lunch; if you're one second off you know immediately. With my 633 it's been usefull sometimes just before shooting after a break since the internal clock has a limited time holding the TC . WHICH leads me to another topic: it would be great, since you already got a ''foot in the door'', to talk with Sound Devices about implementing an optional hardware (or software, as you wish) option transmitter that would work with the ACN system to send TC to our boxes from the mixer/recorder.

Got both Mozegear and Tentacles and yes, since the Sony FS7 has taken its toll of the market here, I can't check the TC as easily as with the C300 which has an LCD on the back. The new unit from Denecke is nice but can't jam wirelessly. My next unit(s) would both have a display and the wireless jamming function.

Well, apart from the ''swelling'' issue which I didn't encounter, after using and recharging the batts not more than 10-12 times (rarely use comteks on my shootings) one of my 4 batts died. CHarger lights up in green but no power on the comtek… well… a little more than a year and one out...

Funny, I got that with my receivers (WMs) and I have to send'em to Lectro so they fix it (for free).

Boom and Live Vocals. Good lesson from 1955.

I'm with Mike on this one: can you just imagine the atmosphere, the focus then happiness from a good take on set when recording this way ? wow... -
Stashed an additionnal pair of Ultrasones HFI-580 since it seems they're re-designing the whole thing... damn... I tried the Pro 550; they're going to be my backups. Don't like the sound.

Now, IF we could get an M2T ''bag edition'', that'd be so great.

I wonder how they can keep their system running at so low rf power (2 mW) ? That's kind of neat if you just need that power and can go a whole day with the batteries.

wouldn't spray white grease work ?

Another TA5 low profile! Not right angle this time

Ultrasone headphones for location work. Which ones?
Boomboom replied to Christian Spaeth's topic in Equipment
HFI-580/680. After getting used to them, you'll never get back to those 7506s... unless you appreciate the effect of having pistons force-pressed into your ears. -
Just as a follow up; I received the batteries (iPower 700mAh) and they fit perfectly into the Comteks. I'll see with time what happens with the swelling part of the story. Thanks again guys for the feedback.
-
oh...I'll see then what happens with the 700s ... maybe chemistry mod with those will bring its miracle and the batts will stay put as for the size. Crossing fingers. Thanks again.

Thanks ayushahuja and John, MSheldon this is exactly my concern about the newer iPower batteries (700mAh) (will they fit in my Comteks ?) Anyway, after doing a little more research on the web and reading about different complaints about "defects", "won't charge properly" or "not usable after a year" I decided to order the iPower 700s along with a charger and will see if that fits. Apart from the Comteks, everything I have in my kit is using AAs or AAAs so that'd be a bummer. You all have a nice day !

Thanks nevo

Reviving the thread as I'm looking for 9V batts and charger: how are these other iPower alternative brands going now, a few years later ? was it worth the expense instead of going with iPower products ? If some of you guys have the newest Li-Po 700mAh batts; do they actually fit into Comteks ?
