  1. Hi Members- Before jumping into the Zaxcom family, I wanted to hear your thoughts on the range of Zaxnet on a Nomad without any additional amplification or antennae. Here's the question: Will Zaxnet (without any additional amplification or antennae) have a better range than my old Comtek M-72 to PR-72's? Will it rival my Lectrosonics 50 mw LMa beltpack transmitter in IFB mode running to Lectro R1a's??? Thanks in advance for anyone able to give me a rough comparison.... -Vincent
  2. Dear Lectrosonics users, We are introducing "Lectro Controller", a new mobile app for managing your Lectrosonics devices. With this app you will be able to: Set up your transmitters using dweedle tones. Connect to your DSQD,Venue2 or M2T over a network. RF Scanning (while connected to your receiver) Frequency coordination. And many more to come! It is available for both Android and iOS: Android Download iOS Download Adapted for mobiles and tablets. 3. Hello. I am a new user to the forum here. Thanks, in advance for any help you can offer. Yesterday, I had a battery (DTAP on a V-mount) short out. In my small kit, it feeds power to mixer (F8), (2x) lectro 411a and (1x) 401. When I plugged in the DTAP plug it sparked a little... so I stopped and did not fully insert the plug. The result is confusing to me... The 411's both will no longer power up by the power supply. The 401 is fine as well as the mixer. The 411's work fine and will power up by internal batteries no problem. If they are powered up on internal batteries and you plug in the power supply cable, they power down. You can remove the cable and they come right back on. Does anyone know what is going on? I read something on dipole protection for reversed polarity and it mentioned that the units would go into protection until the situation was remedied... Is there a reset function, blown fuse or something else. I have tried various combinations of power supplies, both through BDS and direct and the result is the same. Again, both units are acting exactly the same and work fine (power up, transmit and receive) on internal batteries. Thanks again for any advice.
  4. Hey guys, looking at this 4 channel receiver for use in cart and bag. The price point is the same as buying 2 SRC’s but it has way more functionality than SRC’s. Anyone tested it? I would be using it with existing smv’s and smqv’s I would also loop thru antennas with existing venue on the cart. thoughts?
  5. The new 2.0 Update offers iXML Header Support, which allows for recordings to contain industry-standard iXML data in the file headers, enabling easy handling in typical editing software. And Filesystem Protection adds provisions to protect recorded data on the Micro SD card when users mount the card onto a computer. The menu structure has also been updated with some items moved to submenus, including Timecode, SD Card, and “Settings, which is designed to allow for quicker and easier navigation for users. Additional functional enhancements provided by the Firmware Update include: — Timecode can now be copied from the internal real-time clock. — Scene and take numbers can now be manually entered, and are embedded in the filenames and iXML headers of recordings. — Take number automatically increments each time the record button is pressed. File browsing and playback can now be organized by file or by scene and take. And the PDR now understands recordings made in SMWB Series transmitter/recorders and can list their format, length, timestamp information, etc. (Note that the PDR cannot play SMWB recordings because of the sample rate mismatch.) For greater convenience, recording segment size has been increased from approx. 200 MB to 4 GB. On the largest SD card size supported (32 GB), the maximum number of segments a single recording can have is 8. And finally, the two original file naming templates (“Clock Time” and “Sequence”) have been enhanced. Download it here (update instructions are linked on the page): https://www.lectrosonics.com/Support/category/93-firmware.html
  6. I'm thinking about trying to send USB over a LAN via a switch that will be carried along with Dante. Maybe folks have experience with this and hopefully advice. Here's what I'm trying to achieve: (Set rack side) Lectro Venues feeding their USB outs into a USB hub That hub feeding into a USB to Ethernet/LAN adaptor That signal feeding into a switch that which would have a Dante signal as well. Into Ethercon/CAT6 cable. (Mixer side) Ethercon/CAT6 into another switch One leg outputs to Dante Another outputs to a Ethernet/LAN to USB adaptor (this hopefully could work for Wireless Designer) and then to a laptop. Or it could be carried (along with Dante via the switch) that goes to a Thunderbolt dock and into a laptop. A long shot but possibly very useful without having to buy multiple Lectro DSQDs. Any ideas, experiences or thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance, SH
  7. Hi guys, facing some unusual dropouts on lectrosonics for this particular project with 6 red cameras and 6 Teradeks. Im using a lectro UCR411A Rx and a Smqv Tx, things look fine and work beautifully, but the moment a teradek comes around, my Phase indicator starts jumping up and down on the UCR411a, and i start getting dropouts, ive tried changing frequencies after rescanning . but the only way things go back to normal again is when i distance myself from the teradek and things work just fine, but when we using 4-6 cams the teradek is all around the place and i start to go nuts to find a sweet spot. is there something to combat this or am i doing something wrong, would appreciate any help u can provide. i checked with the cam ops and they work in the 5k Mhz range , so its rather strange that block 25 and block 26 starts to go nuts when them teradeks are around, Anyone facing similar problems thanks. We are shuttered by the order of the Governor but have a skeletal crew in place for essential services support. We are repairing gear but with a smaller staff to keep a higher isolation rate for the safety of our people. Still running two shifts in service. No receptionist at the phones right now. You can also call 505-892-4502 in the daytime. Emails or PM’s work best!

  13. The current conversion or update price to change an SRa to an SRb is $250 in the US. That price will be good until 31 July 2013. It will increase 50% to $375 after 31 July 2013. At the end of the year, we will drop the conversion "deal". Current cost for a block change is $752.38 and the SRb conversion uses exactly the same parts and requires the same alignment. So, at the end of the year the conversion may get pricey. Note that at $375, it is still half price. If you can't get a unit in before 31 July, simply make an appointment before then for a conversion before 30 Sept 2013. This gives you 50+ days to decide to rob the piggy bank and 111 days to find a break in your schedule. If you have a firm appointment, the crew is good about turning the units around for a specific return date. In the past few months, we have have done a thousand conversions in bulk. That is slowing down and in a few months it will start becoming similar to a regular repair. Hence the pricing change. Best Regards, Larry Fisher Lectrosonics
  14. I am somewhat new to lectrosonics but I bought these used and I cannot get them to pair. I have scanned frequencies with the receiver and I know they're both on the correct frequency. Compatibility is on 400 Is there something I am doing wrong?

  16. Hi, I recently got a new Lectrosonics M2R/M2T combo to use as in-ear monitors. I noticed a great deal of noise artifacts while using the system...It was being fed a stereo mix from a digital mixer... After scanning for optimal RF signal strength, following the signal chain, troubleshooting any phase/power issues, I decided to swap the digital mixer out for an analog one, and the noise appeared to go away. Once the mixer was put back into the system, the noise came back... Has anyone else ever experienced this? I've attached a sample of the sound, recorded directly from the output of the M2R...It sounds like a sort of audible quantization noise...its most obvious around 2:09 in the attached clip. Any thoughts/insight would be most welcome! B Lectro_Test_Record_Digital.wav

  18. Hi there, I have a UH400A Lectrosonics Butt Plug and is having some kind of weird noise whenever I plug onto my shotgun Mic. I have tested it with many cables on different mounts and the noise is still there even when its on my cinela piannisimo(internal cabling) . It has proven that the high pitch noise is def coming from the UH400A. I have recorded a proof of the noise issue and wondering if any of the user encountered a similar problem? Love to hear your solution before deciding to send it back to the mothership for repair! Kindly click on the link to listen to the recording. https://we.tl/t-9Pq6LbKeIP I've also uploaded as an attachment here if case you can't download through the link. Please help! TESTT01.WAV
  19. Hey everyone! Wanted to get some opinions on servo vs standard lectrosonics wiring, which has always been a little grey for me. I realize that if I get servo, I wont be able to use the lav on an older style lectro transmitter. On a cos 11, the servo used three wires, opposed to the standard wiring which uses 2? I could have this backwards... Anyway, a word from the field is what I am looking for, is there a noticeable noise floor and overload buffer difference between the two? Thanks! Jbob
  20. I am running two Lectro SMV's at 100mW and they are draining batteries. I'm getting an hour or less out of a single AA lithium battery. This is getting expensive and getting worse. The units are probably 5/6 years old and that paste on the threads has long gone. Any ideas as to what is happening? I worked with someone else's gear recently and they were having the same issue. I'm also getting audio (not frequency) dropouts on the SRb receiver. Is it related? Thoughts? Solutions?
  21. Can anyone confirm if the Lectrosonics UM200b and 400a transmitters will work with UCR100 receivers? of course -in the same frequency block, but wanted to check to see if any other issues I'm not aware of. I know lots of folks run LMa's w UCRs, but curious about the 200 / 400 tx compatibilities Thanks for the advice.

  23. Hello hive mind, seems like I´m going through a rough patch with my gear lately :/ (i recently had problems with my 633 too ... ) One of my UCR211 has non responsive up/down buttons, I can´t select a new frequency and/or change any setup settings. Strangely enough it will go into freq scan mode but instead of all three i can get into it only pressing one of the up/down and the menu button.. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!
  24. Hi All, Trying to program an Icom R5 using ARC5 in order to be able to listen into wireless frequencies for interference etc. Does anyone have lectro block tables in csv or excel format (personally looking particularly for Block 21). Thanks RL
  25. Hey Guys, I'm considering an upgrade of my wireless kit. I started with Sennheiser G3s and now run 3 Micron Explorers which have limiters. I use the G3s for headphone sends and wireless hops. I like the look of the Lectrosonics systems but they are soooooo expensive. What would I gain by upgrading? I work on a variety of shoots including Film, TV and corporate. Would love all your thoughts.
