soundmanjohn Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 One of my favourite movies ever, and with a terrific little number from Cat Stevens: Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 Cat Stevens, brilliant, and of course one of my favorite movies. As many of you already know, my first job ever working on a movie, and in the Art Department! It was my experience working on "Harold and Maude" that made the decision to start a career in movies. I wanted to do something more technical than the Art Department so it was going to be Camera or Sound, and it wasn't going to be Camera. I chose sound and have never regretted it. I'm in my 46th year sound mixing. I will add that although I was working in the Art Department, I did some sound work for the movie, re-doing the sound system in the location projection room and doing the music playback for the scene where Maude performs this song. I was also responsible, to a certain extent, introducing Hal Ashby to Cat Stevens' music and encouraging its use for the score for the movie. I did a little slideshow for the CAS Awards show (we never used it) and it was set to the very same Cat Stevens song. I will put up the link in another post. Quote

Boomboom Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Rat Patrol theme begins on the jeep's ''touchdown'' at 3:14 ... I remember sitting in front of TV waiting just for that moment :-) http://youtu.be/YxcmDCo9LLI?list=PL0A12F4D7237731BE Quote
VASI Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 Coming from Gomorra La Serie; a masterpiece TV serie from Italy. In my top 5 list with favorite TV series. Quote
VASI Posted January 6, 2015 Author Report Posted January 6, 2015 What a film! Under the Skin with a fantastic sound design and music overall. Composer: Mica Levi Quote
Graham Kicklighter Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Heres a modern favorite... super ironic considering the show is a dark sci-fi thriller. This kind of theme made it even creepier than something that would have "matched" the show better in genre. Quote
Simon Paine Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 lots of great entries. I'll add another. IMHO, one of the best theme songs of any animated TV show. The great drumming, the energizing horn section a little surf style guitar and a flute solo ! Makes me want to find whoever this band is and go catch a live performance. Quote
VASI Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 Escape From Fort Bravo. Recently hear it Trailer Jeff Alexander Quote
dfisk Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 this one is amazingly effective; One of my all time favorite soundtracks is from the movie Moon, which is one of the most underrated movies ever, and Sam Rockwell should have gotten an Oscar for his performance in this stunning piece of movie making: Quote
atheisticmystic Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 From a very underrated, yet problematic (rape was involved) composer... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7FpKrKlzV_A Quote
Corbin Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Mannix! My favorite theme song of all time. Quote
