  1. Does your Windows computer installation support usb-c? The usb-c to usb-a adapter doesnt change the protocol of the mixpre (usb-c). Maybe you just need to install a driver... Franky
  2. Battery was brand new and worked fine in all other tx... Franky
  3. Hello hive mind, I was renting an original Lectro Lm TX from a friend and ran into this problem: it booted fine (lights etc) but immediatly shutdown afterwards. I didnt have much time to look into it so I just grabbed another set of his but wanted to know the cause. Im guessing its in some kind of mode/reset state?!? TIA Franky 1633392735_Lmshutdown.MOV
  4. Hello! If its not too late I can take a listen Please send it here: francois@siaudio.ca
  5. Was your 664 feeding the camera too? IIRC if you send phantom power to the xlr outputs you fry stuff...
  6. All very good advice here! I could maybe add this: keep all the processing real-time as much as possible instead of audiosuite renders. Much easier to change and adapt a setting then to go back to editing in Izotope rx for example. Also, once you chewed and digested your reading, I recommend this podcast: https://tonebenderspodcast.com/097-gary-bourgeois/ My 0.02$ Franky
  7. Hey Ken, Ediload is one option: https://www.soundsinsync.com/products/ediload Franky

We are a small documentary crew. 9. Hello, I like Unveil and Unfilter. As Philip, I think the user interface is not very straightforward. I didnt know about Acon's offering, will check it out. Unveil: I tweak mostly Focus, Refract and Adaptation. Focus and Refract will control how much overall reverb you remove. Adaptation needs to match the lenght of the reverb you are trying to remove. That's where the GUI sucks as there is no clue on how long or short we can go (Im guessing the starting point is around 0.6s decay time). Tendency to sound a bit thin. Unfilter: Easy and fast to use plug-in when you have unnatural sounding clips. Tendency to sound edgy and slightly harsh. On dialog it will try to bring the bass back, you have to filter the low end. I like them both. They are pricey! My 0.02$ Franky
  10. I agree! It should definitely be a Protools feature, so vote for it here: https://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-sync-clips-using-audio-not-meta-data/79429-3779#idea-tab-comments I think "phrasefind" should also be part of Protools, vote for it here: https://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Add-PhraseFind-option-for-Pro-Tools!/30225-3779#idea-tab-comments My 0.02$ Franky
  11. Hello Lin, I know your pain! It is quite difficult these days to have a "shitbox" listen. Depending on the length of the content I mix I sometime compress a quicktime to play on my phone. Sometimes I put my main monitors thru SpeakerPhone. It can emulate all kind of tv sets and radio sets. I think auratones are way too expensive! My 0.02$ Franky
  12. And if you could come back after and tell us the tricks that would be nice
  13. Hello! Im posting this for a friend producer, she is nice and straightforward: Sound Mixer needed for two days (with mixer/recorder, 2 wireless and a boom) for a docu type shoot at the Curtis Music Conservatory. The dates are yet to be defined but should be between September 21st and October 15th. Please send your resumes, setup and rates to: kanifproductions AT gmail DOT com Happy mixing Franky03
  14. Nice and... crippled (timecode) :-/ Franky
  15. Hello, This model says it last 10hrs: https://www.amazon.ca/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Simultaneously/dp/B013ULOP10 Is that the other version you ordered chrisyking? They also mention that the low latency only works when paired with only one device. That and the 10m/30ft limitation (plus you have to buy the latest bluetooth headphone) makes it less and less ideal... How about these puppies?: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/231723613577?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They seem to be a nice replacement for comteks (but the placement of the volume button sucks!). Cheers, Franky
  16. You guys convinced me... Im taking the plunge Thanks! Franky03
  17. Thank you all for your wise advice... very much appreciated! Franky03
  18. Any specific reason? I might have a good deal on a srb + smqv + hm... but it's in block 23 and I noticed that it appears that there are not many who use this block. Thank you for your time. Franky03
  19. I use FrequenSee, nice little tool just to quickly know the frequency of the truck that is backing up(!) https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/frequensee-spectrum-analyzer/id583945921?mt=8 Very responsive! Franky
  20. Thank you for the samples! Cable still sounds the best, AVX is a little thinner and esssier but overall pretty good. I couldn't hear any AGC Would love to hear how the AT system 10 compares to the Senneheiser, anyone has samples? Couldnt find the specs on how much delay they produce either... Franky
  21. Thanks to all who have added their 0.02$ You are right David, its usually playbacks that involve many departments and the actors too. I might also add that the director used to also be a drummer, he surely has some hearing damage(!) Have a nice weekend jw Franky
  22. Thanks for all the feedback guys... very much appreciated We usually have video assist, Im not handling video playback. The problem is that the director doesn't like to wear headphones and doesn't like the sound of the small speakers found on the video monitors, usually something like this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/891005-REG/Panasonic_bt_lh2170pj_21_5_LCD_Studio_Monitor.html Its on a stand and I cant really attach anything to it. Im just trying to improve the quality of the sound for playback. I found multiple portable speakers, but its more the rigging thats giving me a headache. Thank you Nick for the suggestion of the UE Boom or similar speaker that has a carabiner. Will investigate that solution! Franky
  23. Forgot to mention that indeed its only for the playbacks... I will look at the Anchors but would really prefer them to be also battery operated... Franky
