  1. No matter when you jump in the water, something brighter and shinier will be right around the corner. More important to know what your requirements are and buy once/cry once.
  2. Built-in Fletcher-Munson curve, huh?
  3. I gave myself the present of a LONG overdue upgrade from an iPhone 3G (not 3Gs) to the 5. Best Buy does it for 149.00. It was like in the Wizard of Oz, when the pic goes from b&w to color...
  4. Hi Jason, Which stubby are you using? Thx!
  5. Wish I were better at this sort of thing. Reminds me of this:
  6. The 664's home finally arrived yesterday.
  7. FWIW, While I'm waiting for my approved cards to arrive, for fun I did an hour long test, rolling 8 tracks using the cards pictured. No errors. The new Petrol bag should be arriving today, looking forward to finally giving this thing a real home.
  8. Heh, pick your battles, and then use proper channels. Indy starlets that whisper lines below the ambient noise floor drive me bananas, yet, I ALWAYS route my opinions through the AD or director, depending on the situation. I have had more than one director request I advise the talent myself after trust had been established.
  9. The only sibilance issues I can recall is when I'm monitoring a camera with a flawed return.
  10. Howdy folks, Here's the 2012 installment of my yearly Video X-Mas Card: Thanks for another great year of JWSound! Take care, Sean
  11. My stock answer to "Can you hear that?" is, "If you can hear it, we can". My client-appreciation shirt this year...
  12. I wore my shirt mucho times on the Western we just wrapped. Thanks for sending, btw!
  13. I keep most of mine in this, the compartment underneath has scissors, topstick, stickies and all the windscreen/mount stuff. In my bag I have a smaller box with 4 dividers that I keep 4-5 mics in.
  14. Yesterday was the last day of the Western I've been all over hoot and holler on since November 2nd. Perfect day to bookend the run out at Keyes Ranch in Dripping Springs.
  15. I just started doing this as well on a Western that I decided to be bag-centric for. I have my Octopack and Comtek on my BDS/NP-1 and the 788 has its own NP-1. Been working out really well.
  16. It's WAY too easy to obtain guns, especially here in Texas. For starters, I believe it should be a process (education/certification) like getting a driver's license to own firearms. That alone would weed out a fair amount of high-risk individuals. Some will always skirt the system, but any reduction of incidents would be a positive thing.
  17. Sure, the Rycote actually is lighter and with their respective windjammers on, I find the Rycote more transparent. I've gotten away with many scenes/situations that should have been awful sounding but weren't, thanks to my WS4 setup. The K-Zep basket does feel sturdier, though, I'm just not a fan of it's furry.
  18. I have both the Rycote and the K-tek and greatly prefer the Rycote.
  19. Heard from Trew today. It's apparently a manufacturing bottleneck. I was a very early order, hopefully some action next week.
  20. I've been using Google Voice successfully since it started as a web-based # and have found it very useful.
