RadoStefanov Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Great news for Maxx owners: Just spoke to Glenn and asked him about zaxnet commands from maxx TC out. He assured me it will happen. No timeline yet but still a positive development. Quote
Nathaniel Robinson Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Interesting, I'm guessing it will be incorporated Deva style, via IFB100/200? Quote

Derek H Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 So how would that work? ZaxNet menu inserted into main menu system? Could it adjust transmitter settings as well? Quote
Jason A Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I'll be happy with record/stop functionality. Anything else is gravy. Good to hear! Quote
Jack Norflus Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 So how would that work? ZaxNet menu inserted into main menu system? Could it adjust transmitter settings as well? Yes there will be a new ZaxNet menu in the Maxx that will have all the remote commands in it. You can control TX gain, frequency, output power level and start / stop the recorder. Quote
Wandering Ear Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Excellent! Record/Stop will take care of me, but will be handy to have everything too. Quote
Matthias Richter Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 A dedicated Menu for Zaxnet on the Recorder is great. We don't even have this on the Deva/Fusion!! Have to use the flimsy Ifb100 screen and buttons. Quote

Have to use the flimsy Ifb100 screen and buttons. Yes and no. Via an IFB100, the Deva can control the start and stop of transmitter recording, and individual transmitter gain controls can be mapped to any of the front panel, or virtual, level controls. Transmitter sleep, wake, and frequency adjustments are via the IFB100 buttons. Quote

If only there was a way to network the QRX receivers with the Maxx/Nomad/Deva so that when you scan the receiver and pick a freq it auto remote changes the right Tx, which is the absolute coolest feature of the QRX235+IFB combo. Currently I think you can only achieve that function if you have an IFB option QRX in the bag and have all the receivers strung together with the macguyvered USB cables... Zax should have started putting ethernet connectors on all their gear awhile ago! Quote

pindrop Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 +1 for Zaxnet screen for the Deva/Fusion. Perhaps it could even use the shifted Mon button (wireless) that doesn't do anything, for a Zaxnet menu? It's been a very long time since any attention has been paid to the Fusion and it's feeling left out! Quote
Matthias Richter Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 I think that was the idea of this button some years ago. But then it was just left like this ... Quote
cory Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 W00t! zaxnet+ Maxx = something I will DEFINITELY use all the time. Quote
cory Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 However, it would be WAY cooler if the Maxx could have an IFB200 module instead of a camera link module so we don't have to take up more bag real estate. Any plans for that? Quote

Any plans for that? Agreed! And Zax would sell more ERX receivers... Or.. maybe they should make a UHF IFB receiver... Quote
RadoStefanov Posted August 25, 2014 Author Report Posted August 25, 2014 Agreed! And Zax would sell more ERX receivers... Or.. maybe they should make a UHF IFB receiver... Ha ha. I proposed that long time ago. Wanted more range. Now I use comteks for range. Quote
cory Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Meaning you don't use ERX's at all any more? Or switch out when you need more range? No luck with a booster of some sort for the ERX's? Quote
RadoStefanov Posted August 26, 2014 Author Report Posted August 26, 2014 On my cart I use 1w Amp, Corner antenna and ERX on cameras and director/producers. In my bag I use erx on cameras and comtek for director/producers. Meaning you don't use ERX's at all any more? Or switch out when you need more range? No luck with a booster of some sort for the ERX's? Quote
RadoStefanov Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 Ok and today this happened. Should have been there from the very beginning...Regardless. Thanks for correcting it... Pop the champagne tonight... No wake/sleep command... If we can only have sleep awake on power modes in the zaxnet menu on maxx!!! Quote
Doug Beatty Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 However, it would be WAY cooler if the Maxx could have an IFB200 module instead of a camera link module so we don't have to take up more bag real estate. Any plans for that? It's called a Nomad? If they offered IFB on Maxx, it would surely cannibalize the Nomad 10. However, if they offered a camera link module in Nomad 10 I would be all over it. Quote

If so, when in ZNet mode, what it's the command signal path? Through the Maxx SMA, out of the TC BNC, or some other way? Quote
