lazajamsonic
Spent 2 days in the Dakota Tavern for a web series, a fixture in Toronto’s music scene.
ronmac
Sunrise in Nova Scotia. Waiting for the lobster boats to leave the wharf to set their traps on the first day of the new season (2019.03.31). Capturing the thunderous noise as the boats race to the grounds with a MKH40/30 rig.
Philip Perkins
Ready to record the voice parts for Lydia Ourahmne's SOLAR CRY installation @ the Wattis Institute (SF). Note analog 2-track @ center...Lydia is a big fan of analog, so...Thanks to Nikola, Diego and Calan! Thanks too to the crew of the Chase commercial shooting (and parking trucks) just outside--just more free sound for our sound piece!
Christian Spaeth
Kalimera from Greece! Shooting during lockdown makes some things really easier for us: Almost no cars, people or planes that corrupt our recordings.
Philip Perkins
Some views from the engine room of a "location studio" recording we did last night at The Lab in SF. It was nice to be back rolling on some sublime music again.
Philip Perkins
Postponed for a whole year, John Bischoff's farewell concert @ Mills College last night. Computer network music at its finest, with James Fei and Tim Perkis. A lucky few got to hear it in person, everyone else got a live-stream. It was great to be hearing music in that hall again! Philip Perkins
Today: a quaint occupation: recording ambiance in 6 Napa vineyards to act as fills and etc on a doc about small vineyards owned by Hispanic families here. This shot was taken while waiting out a leaf-blower: 30 min until he took a coffee break for 15 min....

Philip Perkins
The view from our office in the balcony for a nightclub live-record jazz band shoot. It was nice to get out into a big crew mosh (masked, vaxed and distanced) again.... IMG_9391.MOV
Jeff Wexler
Nice! I always loved doing anything with music -- not too much opportunity for Production Sound Mixers on movies but I was lucky to be on quite a few where we did some really nice live music recordings. Wandering Ear
Recording forest ambiences for a show I just wrapped that shot mostly in the woods. It was a dream to combine two of my favorite activities (Backpacking & Sound Recording) and get paid to do it!
