  1. Spoken like a true EX-Chicagoan! Who got smart and went south!!!!!!!
  2. I believe you are right...VT lavs. I have a couple given to me by a guy who never had time to attache a TA5F to them. His loss, my gain...beige in color and used them until they wore out.... cleve
  3. Happens quite a bit to me...+1 to placing the lav higher...and booming! Extra layers helped a bit, but never completely took care of it. It is usually a mechanical valve which yes a young actress can have. My instances were not with professional talent who actually were not aware how loud the ticking was.
  4. +1 to Philip's comments. I keep two of the 185 systems on hand, for inclement weather work. Keeps the more expensive and less vintage units out of harm's way!!!
  5. Blocks vs frequencies escapes me right now, but BL 26 is fairly clear near Dealy Plaza...used it last week for most of day with no problem. BL 21 is very clear! Sorry I didn't take notice of the specific frequency, but we were jamming to get our stuff shot between rainstorms. Bl 25 is practically useless...that should cover 630-640 I think. If you feel better renting, there is no rental place in Dallas!!! cleve
  6. Hmmm...never had anything close to 1.75 hours...try .75 hours! Thus my purchase of 2500mah NiMH! YMMV...
  7. Stacy...who is the transcription house? Yes, be sure they know to look in the mp3 for the imbedded TC....not on the left track of a two track recording!!! When do you have to do this. I could loan you my Marantz, with all the necessary cables if you have time. cleve
  8. It's always harder when it's someone we love!!! RIP...
  9. I would suspect that mile wide smile will go on and on and on......... congrats Jan.... cleve
  10. Agreed...my 552 rig is the essentials and just enough AA and 9v and stickies, etc! But still any means of losing a few ounces is a good thing!!!
  11. It's all about the weight...yes, perhaps shorter run time, but every few ounces off my shoulder during a 12-16 hour day is a good thing... If I were even small cart based, then it would not be an issue... cleve
  12. Halfsize NP1,,,,good!!! LiPo NP1.........great!!!! cleve Would buy either, both'' immediately upon release... With 6 L7S and three JL2Plus chargers, not changing my system anytime soon....unless to LiPo and the JL2Plus would not charge it...then maybe....
  13. So not fair Andy...have been wanting to go out there ever since reading about it. they operate an amateur radio station which is the reason I want to go...well that a fishing. Been offshore so often can't count...your plan is solid. You should be able to put the basics in your lap! The rest in something soft, like a duffle so it can be crammed into the small luggage hold. 10 hours isn't that long, so need for chargers I would think. You can plan on high humidity, so the usual precautions stand. And yes if the waves are high enough to spray you and the gear, I don't think you will be going. Enjoy...and post a pix!!!! cleve
  14. You should send it back...once it has completed its journey halfway around the world, then ask the Senator about the DS Ultra Master reset... cleve
  15. So professionals really watch the blinky-winkies?
  16. I use the EMP regularly for my Sonotrims...never an issue with that particular microphone. cleve
  17. Daughter's wedding in Denver mid-Aug, then off into the mountains for a couple of weeks! Some camping, lots of hiking and generally just not answering phones and email!
  18. Not a pair on a dealers shelf anywhere? I'm going to have to start looking tomorrow....
  19. My mantra most of the time Eric...but want those nice, low profile DIY right angle male XLRs into the mixer! Keeps that left side from getting jammed going thru doors, into the Pelican case, etc. Well that and it is slow around here, so time for projects. Of course the weekend is upon on us, so fishing takes center stage! cleve
  20. As I do 99.9% of my work with the mixer never leaving the bag, and run all but one of my inputs line level from 411A or SRb, I have very successfully used RG-174 coax for audio cables. Very thin, light, flexible and shielded nicely. Building DIY right angles this weekend and just wondering if anyone a bit more technical has a good reason this is not a good thing. gracias....cleve I might add, of course for not long runs, but the 6-8 inch jumpers needed from receiver to mixer input!
  21. Since it's way past Eric's bed time out East.... That is for transmitters in the VHF range....In the UHF range, BL19 thru 26 the maximum outpower is indeed 250mw! I would look up the actual range in MHZ, but almost time to curl up and nod off .... cleve
  22. Shot there several times...you should be OK with your freq range, but never hurts to check. The US ARMY uses two radios in the 400 range if you are on the training areas...700mhz for the two ways between the on base police, office buildings, etc. Be prepared for a very hot, humid shoot! Getting to be that time of year there that can be quite uncomfortable...unfortunately at times wearing shorts is not allowed if you are in and around tanks, large equipment, etc. They do a lot of night parachute drops...shooting one of those is great fun. cleve
